By 100 A.D., the Romans had constructed indoor plumbing, paved roads, central heating, sewers, and aqueducts into every corner of their European Empire, including Portugal.
And, unlike the alleged great, but allegedly destroyed, cities of Africa, the ruins of the Roman Empire still exist, and can be visited and seen by anyone, and actually read about in books written by the Romans who lived there.

Slavery was unfortunately, always present. But in the last 1.5 millenniums, Islam spread Slavery far and wide. It is the White Men's World that outlawed it. Know your history and you will be set free.

Slavery has been around since pre-history, and starts in Africa about the time apes began walking upright.
It continues today in the very same place.
White people who lived in Europe enslaved their own populaces through feudalism and monarchism, and chattel slavery was just an extension of that.
The Black Africans, the Arabs, the Asians, the Hottentots...everyone. They have all practiced some form of slavery for a million years.
It was White Christians who ended it violently out of principled opposition. The entire nation of China is to this day a massive slave state where Chinese thugs enslave other Chinese who are murdered if they resist. Where is their virtuosity? Where is their nobility?
The best word to describe white men is “reticent”.
