The upgrade should also concentrate on making them networked, and unmanned. RPTs are the future, manned tanks are the past. And then control them with an AI.

yup, you're 100% right, i was wrong... i've read the 551 had sighting problems after firing the missile, was that a problem on the A2 also?

I assume it’s still true, but I remember reading years ago that in major conflicts, the country with the most tanks has always won. Not the country with the most advanced tanks. I realize that is very simplistic and isn’t a “guide” to win wars by...but worth a mention given this post.

BS! I was a tanker. M6o ride was NOT bone crushing. Eleven Educated! I concur; the M60/ M60A1 wasn't all that bad, though a bit...um, sporty- for someone used to a M113 *Bucket*.

Wrong. I know thats a pic sheridan, but its the best pic of the missile I could find that would post and not give the red x pic. Pic below of the mighty M60A2 glamoursly carrying on the best traditions and dash of the famed Cavalry branch!
Secondly, the M60a2 DID fire missiles. Trust me.
I don't have to trust you; I remember our fighting base load very well: We carried 33 main gun rounds and 13 Shillelagh missiles, not quite double what a Sheridan carried.
Just another day at the office:

looks like those troopers are at Graf.. Grafenwöhr was a little more hilly than that looks to be. If I had to guess, they're at Baumholder.

That a2 looks like it was abandoned. Was it? I’d love to have that at the Ft. Chaffee or Camp Robinson military museums. We have a 48a5, a1, and a3 + a SGT York DIVAD.

That a2 looks like it was abandoned. Was it? They cabled three VTRs together to get it out, so I was told. Not at all the worst case of *muddy turret defilade* I've seen.
If things are wet enough to spin the tracks, you can usually pull one out, eventually. Otherwise, call out the Engineers with the bulldozers.
I'll nose around about finding you a display piece. Got a Duster to go with DIVAD?

Yes. We have several dusters. 40 mm cannon demilled. Arkansas National Guard unit was one of the very last in the nation to have M48a5s, M60a3s and the dusters. We got rid of all ADA and armor in the 90s. We are field artillery, aviation, and infantry now.
