We had a senator here in NY who did that. Tea Party faker - Richard Hanna. The ONLY thing he did that lived up to his promises is that he is not running again after this, his second term.
Thank the Lord.
........wow!..........AWESOME words strung together like fine pearls that say so well how so many of us feel. That flag is as much a part of our history as Martin Luther King is. Will future generations, who have swung far to the right, just blithely and mindlessly tear down his statues and/or take down Old Glory from buildings and relegate her to some old warehouse on the other side of the tracks?
It’s a TWO WAY street potentially that lefties like Haley are going down here...........shamelessly, mindlessly and needlessly. Again, I’m glad Trump sees her for the progressive vote hustler she is.
I want a selection who will pull in the blue and white collar middle class and put a purple or blue state in play and bring a demographic and have legislative expertise that Trump can call upon. Also, I don’t want the optics to be: two old white guys.
That narrows down the list considerably.
She had her chance and she made the WRONG decision.

I don’t understand your apparent ire at my comment. It is a sincere question. We’ve got a candidate running who is abhorrent to many voters, beloved by many others. That’s just fact, and it will become history.
And it’s OK to talk about it.
We are seeing politicians distancing themselves from Trump, and that is worrisome. If he’s going to run in November, he needs coattails if we’re to keep Congress. It’s even more worrisome that you don’t want me to even talk about it here on Free Republic.
Free Republic has been a place where we can debate issues and comment on the real events of the day. We should not be afraid to bring up tough questions or express our concerns.
When you’ve got former Republican presidents and presidential candidates, not to mention the current Speaker of the House expressing concern, I may not agree with them, but it’s certainly appropriate to acknowledge that there is a problem.
The fact is that, no matter how much he may be appreciated by his base, Trump has alienated a lot of people. Will this play into his ability to pick a running mate? Will the young up-and-comers be afraid to be associated with him in case he crashes and burns?
Those are legitimate questions, and I can’t see why you would attack me for asking them.
I pointed out that Haley had removed herself from consideration before Trump’s comments yesterday. That’s just fact, not a reason for you to throw stones at me.
Can we please keep Free Republic as a place where actual issues can be discussed, not a “safe zone” like the campus idiots require?
You are douche bag that needs flushing.
“Who knows, including Trump, whether he can pull this off or whether hell leave stink over everybody associated with him.”
Don’t know what makes you so stupid, but it really works.
