Looking back at the early days of this campaign, I now know why Cruz was doing the buddy, buddy routine with Trump. He was trying to sucker him into some sort of deal like Cruz pulled on Kasich in Indiana. Cruz is a slick, crafty talker who thinks he can manipulate others into doing his bidding.
