And that’s the bloody truth. Congress, D.C. establishment, many unions, etc. have EXEMPTED themselves or were promised no increases on Cadillac plans for a number of years. Now those that were granted those delays are squawking about extending the protection for Cadillac plans. Rip that freaking band aid off. And make D.C. use the same choices as us. They’d fix it a lot faster if they and theirs were impacted.
I didn’t see that coming. When Obama promised that we could have more and pay less, I assumed it was true. When Obama promised that the average family of four would save $2500 a year, I assumed it was true. When Obama promised that we could pay for medical care with a tax on medical devices, I assumed it was true. When Obama promised that we could keep our doctors, I assumed it was true. When Obama promised that Obamacare would not cover illegals, I assumed it was true.
Don’t blame me. How could I have guessed that a socialist would lie to get another big government program approved?
The insurance companies didn’t get into bed with Obama to lose money.
At least she has the option to keep her insurance. My carrier quit the market.
I disagree, there was more than a whimper. A LOT of people attended town hall meetings and were very vocal in opposition. But these town halls were a façade, the “fix was in”. And if you don’t believe that last phrase, go back to 2010 or so and see the absolute chicanery used to get this monster passed.
We have left the period of American history where senators and congressman said they wanted to hear from the people and they would enact legislation based on what the people wanted.
Now, preposterous, unworkable, 2600 page legislation is passed over the valid objections of hard-working, tax-paying citizens, because it benefits those “who don’t have a voice.” Well, guess what? We’re the ones, now, who don’t have a voice.
No kidding.
