So true about NY schools in the “olden days”. I know you said NYC, but everything was so standardized via the Regents system that the curricula and grading was equal through the state. When I was taking my Latin Regents near Buffalo, my cousin in Albany was taking the same exam at the same hour.
And I loved fifth grade! Alaska and Hawaii got statehood when I was in fifth grade, so it was very interesting. Little did I know that eventually I’d end up living in both places; they seemed so exotic.
Registered Dems total about 5.8 million to 2.7 million Republicans. Those are just sheer stats and I don’t know what good/bad care the NYSBE takes of the voter rolls.
So that’s roughly 2:1 numbers.
I’m not sure how turnout was D vs R but I think the R was higher.
Primary results D vs R I do not think are much indication of general results, but the enthusiasm for Trump in NY is so much higher than other R candidates that it stands to reason he has a shot in the general whereas any other R candidate really has no chance.

Love this picture. Grandpa and granddaughter, so sweet. Love the book too. I think it was MSNBC had a Trump documentary awhile back. The grandkids were in his office saying “grandpa, grandpa” and when they were leaving, he waived “bye, bye.” So cute. I wish everybody could see that side of Trump.
I have to say my daughters and I prayed before the results came in that Trump would get 60% of the vote. If I knew God was going to answer my prayer, I would have asked for 70 or more. Haha! Doesn’t seem to work with the lottery, btw. ;)
Way behind on posts b/c of connection issues. CNN already predicted DJT to win NY - duh! (don’t want to listen to Megyn - Trump supposed to be coming on soon).
I used to do interior design and it is fine to mix patterns and textures in a room. I wouldn’t call tattoos either. I personally hate them, more so on women. If someone had a little butterfly below their waist when one only saw it when they wore a bikini, I’m OK with that. I hate the tats on the arms, shoulders, ankles, etc. And, the men (and some women) with tats all up and down their arms - ugh!
