This is the best report I have on the meeting.

The Board of Eagle Forum, a 501(c)(4) corporation, held a Board meeting in accordance with and pursuant to the Eagle Forum By-Laws and Illinois State Law at 2 pm CDT on April 11, 2016.

Pursuant to the By-Laws, Eagle Forum First Vice President, Eunie Smith, presided over the meeting. Eagle Forum Founder, Mrs. Phyllis Schlafly, the Chairman of the Board, was present during the entire meeting, including expressing herself on all seven votes.

If all this is true, then 1) it does not sound as if it was a "special" meeting. 2) Later in the same article, it does say that Ed Martin was removed as President (which is legal ... the clause you reference only applies to directors, not officers). 3) It says nothing about Schlafly being removed, but it could be that it was discussed and the formal 20 day notice was given at the meeting.

I Phyllis endorsed Trump on a personal level - no problem

If she endorsed him under the umbrella of “Eagle Forum” without the agreement of the board - PROBLEM

Phyllis has done wonderful work for decades - above and beyond.

In Trump's case his lack of understanding The Gospel didn't cause me to decide to never vote for him, but it did cause me to begin reevaluating whether I could vote for him at all.

My original comment, which seems to be so easy to misinterpret, I will clarify. It was not that he isn't really a believer, which is pretty obvious. It was his phony portrayal of himself as a Christian. From my perspective it was pretty much an in your face moment in which he revealed how stupid he thinks Christians are. He further confirmed this when he went to Liberty University and couldn't even correctly pronounce the name of a book in the Bible.

I would have had more respect for Trump if he had just said I attend church once in a while, but I really am not a serious believer.

Anyway, I know you're a big Trump supporter and won't change your mind about him at this late date so I wish you well.
