You are entirely right. He sent it in satire and I was waaay to slow to pick it up.
My error entirely.
I am multi-tasking. I know, a concept difficult for you to imagine. I made up my mind about this issue long ago. It isn’t new, in fact, it is old. But you know who hasn’t even begun to focus on this issue and is salivating at the chance to do so. Yes, that’s right ... the Democrats. They will play this tune all day long if Cruz becomes the nominee.
Your record is broken. Bye Bye!
You are very right in a way.
The Founders had no way to imagine a “globe” as we have today. They could not have conceived that a pregnant American woman would be in Paris, Prague or Podunk, Poland when an early-delivery baby came along.
Of course this gets into other issues as well. If “native born” is a requirement, do we accept all babies born in the 50 states to illegal immigrants, or one such parent?
Dan Rather was brought down by a freeper named Buckhead...
It is a legal non-issue. Read USC 1401. and as I said, had Trump even believed it, he would be pressing it in the courts right now, so he would be 100% sure of the nomination.
Welcome to FR. This is not normal, people are not generally attacked when they post. But you need to have thick skin. I have defended Ted Cruz and have been physically threatened, told to get cancer, called a liar, stupid, a troll, not a conservative etc. Once Cruz is the nominee on the second ballot, it will be worse, but after that we all go back to being friends.
Yeah, the founders produced an incredible document and nation, but it would have been nice if they'd have provided a little more detail in some places, or maybe included a glossary of terms to make a few matters more clear.
Lord I hope so... because we need EVERY vote in November.
Have a good week.
It is in many ways a mess.
If we leave it as natural born: born on the soil to two citizen parents some few born abroad to citizen parents not in military or diplomatic service are effectively disenfranchised.
But if we broaden the definition to include them we raise the risk of a person at the helm of the country, in a position to do the most harm being of mixed or totally foreign loyalties.
My weighing of those choices is that the greater good is to protect the country and realize that the disenfranchised can serve in other ways if they care to. If they truly love our country would they not be willing to make that sacrifice rather than to expose the country to risks in future just so they could be President.
I’d have to agree.
PS, old Sam Donaldson line:
When people attack you personally, as opposed to your point or your question, it’s usually because they do not have a good answer to your point or question.
Be well.
This is so true of Obama.
Regardless of his birthplace, he never lived “the American Experience” growing up.
He was raised by America-hating mother, a gay black communist man as his defacto father in his teens, an English hating bio father, and Black hating Hawaiians.
No wonder.....
You really want to discuss law with me? LOL.
Hey establishment troll. The fact is Cruz will never be President, It noes not matter what statute you post or argument you make, a political motivated Fed court will bar him from the ballot late in the game and you can appeal after the election assuming the USSC does not stay deadlocked.
So pushing Cruz is a waste and a sure way to elect a dem.
The reason that it doesn’t go anywhere in the court is that the courts have said that it’s a political question, and it’ up to the voters to decide what that term means. I’m a voter and I’ve decided that Cruz isn’t eligible.
Want to bet $10,000 on that?
$10,000 cashiers checks. Jim Rob to hold the stakes.
Willing to put your money where your mouth is... or you just a big mouth?
Democrats never pay up.
Perfectly Ok for you to do so, and you are totally correct that counts do not want to tread on these issues.
I’m willing to give Jim Rob a $10,000 certified check and have him hold it AND YOURS pending the outcome of your claim.
Put up or..... whine
