Sundance has chosen wisely, and he chose a long time ago. Cruz’ odds are as close to zero as they can possibly be. Why don’t you take a look around? Maybe you’ll have a moment of clarity.

He implies that the wire transfers will continue once the wall is funded.

Hasn't Donald Trump also said that it will only take him two years to deport all the illegal immigrants already in this country? So his revenue stream to build the wall will have dried up within two years. Will that be enough to fund it?

” .. the average IQ of a Cruz supporter...”

The issue is paying for the wall: `Trump Delivers Solid Outline of How Mexico Pays for Border Wall – POTUS Balks, Liberal Media ...’

that is, plugging the leaks before bailing, IOW actually doing something about the invasion instead of Cheap Labor Boy Cruz’s cheap talk, and we get the usual carping, “Duhhh, I tot he was gonna to get rid a dem.”

Yeah, Cruz’s spoilers are 25 watt bulbs on a 100 watt FR.

I was cruzing DU of all places the other afternoon while FR was down to see how the primates were faring.
The DUmpsters all rooting for sex maniac Ted, like FR’s `Anyone But Trump, Including Hillary, If Our Guy Can’t Win, And We Know He Can’t But Maybe At The Convention We Hope We Hope His GOP-e Overlords Won’t Throw Him Under The Bus’ “moderate” Uniparty branch.

“No company would attempt to bypass the law like that.”

It would not require a company to bypass the law as the Canadian company would not be subject to American laws.

Transfer money to the Canadian company, they send the money to Mexico and not laws are broken.

I doubt Trump could pass a law making it illegal to transfer money to Canada.

I have a simple request. Read Trump’s proposal. I think you will be amazed.

He is going to make it impossible to send money outside the US without papers. Naysayers will say they will find other ways to get it out, and slowly those holes will be filled, but you will take a gushing faucet and reduce it to a trickle very quickly. Finally remember this is not a politicians methodology, rather a financier’s, with over 35 years of experience dealing with world money. I bet he will do a better job getting it done than anyone else. Oh wait a minute, nobody else even thought of doing this...but I digress...

Whatever crybaby.

Living up to your user name, I see.

Most Freepers have been calling for exactly what Trump is proposing for as long as I can remember.

If you were capable of reading comprehension, you would see I said nothing about The Great Huge Trump Wall. But, rather, why the Orange Savior thinks cutting off remittances via wire transfers will make one iota of difference.

Just like the wall, it’s not 100%. But it doesn’t need to be. Flood to a trickle will do.

Sure - wire transfers will flood to a trickle. But will do absolutely nothing to prevent Mexican illegals from sending money back home.

I like the idea. In fact, I proposed something a lot like it here, not long ago.

There is a Western Union service at the local supermarket, and around the first of the month there will be a line of people there waiting to send money to parts unknown. I’ve seen as many as 10 people waiting in line to send money.

The article states that Mexico benefits from these remittences to the tune of $25 billion per year. And that is money lost to the U.S. economy forever.

Slap a tax on these money shipments out of the country? And use that tax money to build the wall? Sounds good to me!

The Money Services Compliance Affidavit simply requires the sender present valid ID and fill out a form prior to the transfer which identifies the sender as a legally authorized entity within the U.S.

Well that will certainly stop them.

Even a 4% surcharge on remittances (our initial thoughts on the issue) would net the U.S. Treasury approximately $1 billion per year.

There are more than 1M US expats in Mexico and I expect a good number receive money sent from the US. Do we really want a 4% tax on that plus all the money sent to charitable organizations, missionaries, etc. working in Mexico?

This idea wasn't thought through.

I personally have no problem applying American laws in ways that benefit American people. We have and apply rules for our benefit, not Mexico’s. But I definitely like the idea of fining the crap out of sanctuary cities either directly or indirectly.

Did I miss anything?

You missed... 1) Try tanning without the little eye deals that make him look google eyed. 2) Lose the bad comb over 3) Quit lying about everything 4) Admit that he's not a conservative

Just for starters :)

It would require a company to transfer the money to Canada. If a Canadian or other foreign company were violating the law the company transferring thee money would be complicit in violating the law.

Stay in control, friend. It’s already in place with regards to Cuba.

It has been thought through and implemented previously.
