He insisted that he would be able to get rid of the nations more than $19 trillion national debt over a period of eight years. LOL

Most economists would consider this impossible because it could require taking more than $2 trillion a year out of the annual $4 trillion budget to pay off holders of the debt. lol...impossible? I wasn't that long ago that a 4 trillion dollar "budget" would have been impossible to imagine and now they can't imagine a lower budget?

I’d be happy if he could get rid of the deficit in 8 years and start paying down the debt.

This will actually be easy to do through a simple three step process. First, make massive cutbacks in wasteful and redundant agency spending. Second, cut personal and business taxes to incentivize spending, commerce and investment. And third, eliminate all unnecessary regulations that suffocate businesses. The ensuing economic revival will stun people.

He can't wipe out that amount of debt without double digit GDP growth for years. A consumption based economy cannot grow like that.
The US economy doesn't produce that much revenue to fund itself AND pay off all the bonds AND expand the military AND expand health care like he wants to AND hold a progressive tax base at his proposed rates.
Geez - this guy can truly say anything and his supporter just yell “YES”.
It's really amazing.

Eliminate a $20T debt in eight years? That would be very hard on everyone. But better to do it while we still have some economy left. If we wait until it collapses of its own weight we won’t recover.

The Donald's mouth is simply running off making another promise. The Donald's brain will eventually catch up with it and figure out how much damage control his minders will have to perform.
It's just how he rolls.

Donald Trump said in an interview that economic conditions are so perilous that the country is headed for a very massive recession and that its a terrible time right now to invest in the stock market, embracing a distinctly gloomy view of the economy that counters mainstream economic forecasts. Please, go ahead, talk down my 401(k), you dumbass.
DANG!
