It’s an old Touch. I only use it on long flights, so it is rarely turned on. My usual device is the Fire.
Looks like the Touch should be on version 5.3.7.3

It turned my keyboard kindle into a brick.Too old to update via WiFi and I don’t currently own a desktop or laptop. I ordered a paperwhite with 3g (used). It was time anyway. The keyboard was a frankenkindle, put together with parts from 2 broken models.

I found that out a while ago. NOW I make sure I have downloaded a couple of reads when we go out. As long as I have gotten them on my device, I can read them.
