Well I am not so sure they as much “pulled their punches” as they did pulling out Trumps own talking points that have been winning him the nomination. More often than not, they just tried to be “more Trump than Trump”. Sure there were a couple of “counter Trump” but over all they just try to steal Trump’s thunder even though they never introduced the thunder in the first place.

The female reporter has bruises on her arm. There was an eyewitness. The aftermath was caught on tape, and Trump’s guy initially admitted to Breitbart news that it happend saying “He didn’t know she was a Breitbart reporter.”

Says a lot about the nature of Trump’s campaign that he finds this acceptable behavior from his staff.
