buying the industry’s propaganda that American college graduates aren’t smart enough to work in the computer industry. ....As a part time, one time college adjunct instructor, I’d agree with that statement.

How is it that E-Verify doesn’t have more bite? How is it that anyone can work in this country illegally?

The Republicans want the money-(hence are fools)- the Democrats want the votes, hence political control. Political control leads to governance and obtaining all the wealth. The Democrats are smarter than the Republicans who are blinded by greed. “Those who think in economic terms are forever victims of those who don’t.”

[That is pure BS. We have overall the finest high tech universities in the damn world.]

Unfortunately, most AMERICANS aren’t attending them. A lot of foreign STEM students.

American students are more focused on studying majors such as Women’s Studies and 20th Century Hungarian Literature, and thinking they can get a $15 hour burger flipping job when they get out.

We have all the AMERICAN tech students necessary to take the jobs. This is beginning to sound like the Bush propaganda “just doing the jobs Americans aren’t willing to do” bull$hit.

These big companies want H-1B applicants because they work for less, and will NEVER demand a raise.

The students are bright enough, the problem is all the PC nonsense which practically criminalizes competition. These days the mean girls are all competing for who is the biggest victim. You start outscoring the foreign students and it’s amazing how testy everyone gets.

I actually was called down by a prof last semester for working so hard because he couldn’t give me a higher grade than I was getting. I was working so hard because there were so many gaps, I wanted it to make better sense, and for that I had to go digging.

Don’t sell our people short.

So how come we have a less than 68% reading ability? How comes MOST can’t count change? Because we allow them to get out of college with failing grades. FOR THE MONEY.

Carnegie Tech?

100 other top rated schools?

Huh?

Get lost! Go get a job with that prestigious law firm that converted to the sole practice of teaching companies how to get around the H-1B visa laws. Hurry!

Re: “These big companies want H-1B applicants because they work for less, and will NEVER demand a raise.”

Also, most H-1Bs are chasing a Green Card, in other words, permanent legal residency.

They must have employer sponsorship to obtain a Green Card.

Even though an H-1B visa allows you to change employers, to get higher pay, for instance, if you do that, your original employer makes it clear that if you quit, they will not sponsor your Green Card.

So, if your goal is a Green Card, you are essentially chained to one employer for years until your Green Card is approved.

In other words, low pay and long hours, and there is nothing you can do about it.
