Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declined an offer to meet President Barack Obama at the White House later this month and canceled his trip to Washington, the White House said on Monday, citing Israeli news reports.
That may be what the White House said, but I don't believe it's true, at least the implication it makes.
As I understand it Bibi was coming to America to speak at the AIPAC conference, and requested a meeting with Obama. Obama said no, he was busy excitedly preparing for his upcoming meeting with the hemispheres most prominent Communist. Bibi canceled his trip.
In a separate act, after some criticism for having no time for Netanyahu while preparing to visit Castro, the White House issued an invitation for later this month, the 18th I believe, which Netanyahu turned down, citing his unwillingness to come so deep in the primary season. Probably recalling the criticism for his last visit, portrayed by the White House as political.
Two separate actions, the implication that he canceled a trip to meet with Obama isn't true.
