I understand NYC very well, too well actually. Yes, there is massive corruption. But money talks there and all you have to do is look at Bloomberg who was a democrat, then republican, then independent.
If Donald has his bankers grease the right palms in the machine, he may take it.
Oh, and I know of a Sicilian from the ‘old’ SOHO district who was called the most powerful man in the world back in the early 1980s because he could deliver 7,000,000 votes with a simple phone call. His kind have faded. Harlem now has elements that are very pro-Trump. Blacks talk openly about being positive for Trump which is unheard of.
Keep in mind that Manhattan has gentrified, the artists have moved into Brooklyn, Queens is Trump land, and you have the makings of a different reaction. It can happen. If it was 25 years ago I would say 100% it will not happen. Now I say 30%+ chance. If dems stay home, it can happen. Hillary is not a rock star in the City. They are not enthralled with her at all.
I’m glad you’ve tried too!
I dont think the Cruz side even has a national strategy since the whole depending on evangelical primary votes scheme fell through.
They are just about grasping at whatever gets a vote at this point.
Hey, the polls which bring us bad news MUST be wrong. Just ask Vice President Palin, she’ll tell ya.
Trump has no chance in New York, and "coming closest" is worth nothing even if true.
G. W. Bush lost New York, California, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota, in both elections, and yet he won.
Of course, winning any of those States would be nice, but it's the Dems who must win all of those States to win.
We are not talking about Ted Cruz were talking about Donald Trump and the polling .Try and keep up
White, blue collar workers have been voting heavily Republican for a long time. Trump “tapping into” that doesn’t advance the ball as much as some think.
I was being a bit sarcastic.
Sorry you missed it.
We are constantly fed polls and graphs showing that a majority of citizens consider themselves conservative.
But the majority do not seem to actually live and vote as conservatives.
IMHO there are at least two reasons for this dichotomy:
And for the younger, more brainwashed generation, anyone not as far left as Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Hugo Chavez, Pol Pot or Che Guevera is viewed as an evil right wing conservative.
This is so true. People really like Trump or really hate Trump. The fact that more people hate him than like him is real.
Vote Trump and you’ll get Hillary.
This is news?
New York City is so Eurosocialist it’s out in the mid-Atlantic somewhere.
I always thought Upstate is far more conservative and under a sort of left wing dictatorship in Albany.
The New York Gaily News? The one who published a Trump Is Hitler headline?
Every word they write is a lie, including ‘and’ and ‘the’.
If they write that Trump cannot take NY, it mesns it is destiny that he will.
Maybe so.......if that's the case then we're all in for it whether he gets the nod or not.
And, the Harlem element are all west side yuppies looking for better deals. They still vote the same way......as does Park Slope as does the Battery.
Sorry, you’re preaching to the choir.
I’m not disagreeing. I just didn’t think we were as insane as California.
But that’s not saying much.
Lots of states in the Union are made up of predominately rural populations ruled over by one or two large cities & their liberal political culture. NY, PA, TX, MN, WI, IL, IA, GA, VA, TN, to name a few.
Trump would easily put that State into play!
