Shouldn’t we wait to see which Senators are endorsing before commencing with the snark? Certainly there are 4 current members of the Senate who we all can agree are NOT GOPe? I can think of 3 right off the top of my head - Lee, Sasse, and Cotton. I think it’s a little premature to call this a GOPe capitulation on the part of Cruz.

Again, what took them so long whoever they are? The fact that they waited this long tells me they were a little afraid to endorse him until the gopE has called for anyone to help them stop Trump. In other words, they were given permission and promised no retaliations. Just my belief.

Who is doing the arm twisting to force Senators to get endorse Cruz?

The GOP. If you haven't already noticed GOP support for Cruz by the millions they're pouring into his account, by Cruz's refusal to dispute Romney's venomous speech, or by his support of Rubio and vice versa then ask yourself this. If Cruz is not the one the GOP wants, where are the ads against him? They have poured millions into negative ads against Trump..

“I’ve never in my life seen a party campaign so hard, and spend money, against a candidate running on their ticket.”

I have. 1976 against Ronald Reagan. They closed ranks and fought for Ford. But 1976 paved the way for 1980 and the election of Reagan!

I wasn’t aware that the actual party spent against Reagan. They didn’t have superpacs back then. The gop is running ads in Florida. Not for a candidate or an issue. But AGAINST Trump.

Up until this week, Trump has had more support from the senate than Cruz does.

He’s used that as means to hit at Cruz while trying to maintain that he isn’t a part of the establishment and Cruz is. I know, pretzel logic but there it is.

Now that Cruz is going to have a list of supporters it’s all of a sudden “See, he is the establishment choice!”

I think the reality is:
Some senators waited to see how things were going before endorsing a candidate.
Some Senators are freaking out about trump and are willing to endorse Cruz because they care more about the country and party than they care about the idea that Cruz will call them out for helping democrats.
Some Senators probably think Cruz has a real chance and want to go on the record as supporting someone other than trump.

What would you say about Trump if four senators from the establishment endorsed him?

How do you know it is going to be "four senators from the establishment"? Unless you assume that just being a senator makes you the establishment. And if that is the case, why are Trump supporters so excited about the Sessions endorsement?

My only issue here is the rank hypocrisy of many of the Trump supporters. Are you saying that Trump would refuse the endorsement of any member of Congress, both now and in the general election, because to accept the endorsement will end his "outsider" status? Or would you and Trump welcome those endorsements as a sign that they have accepted Trump as a legitimate candidate?

I don’t think Cornyn could stomach it. He hates Cruz with a red hot fire...

What about Mike Lee?

You posted: So Trump and his minions have been constantly repeating the line about Cruz being so unlikable that he couldn’t even get any of his fellow senators to endorse him. Now all we will hear from them is how these endorsements just “prove” that Cruz is really an “establishment” candidate.

Did you miss the “if” in my question? “IF” four senators from the establishment.....”

You jump to the conclusion that we Trump MINIONS would accuse Cruz of being establishment. So I asked you a simple question. If “four establishment” senators endorsed Trump what would you say? Would you say “Trump is establishment”?

If they were they would have endorsed Cruz sooner. I don’t care their motives, Trump or Cruz is good either way right?

Hey WAIT JUST A MINUTE!! I’ve heard from pundits and Cruz supporters that the establishment prefers Donald over Ted because they know Ted will be an unmovable, unshakable, hardline conservative who is a consummate outsider and is not owned.....

they are not concerned with saving the GOP of old; they are simply tryingto save their own political asses. It really is that simple.

No. Maybe once upon a time but Cruz is getting boatloads of money from GOP since he became their best hope for a brokered convention. He's also getting GOP endorsements and has already said he understands Romney's fears about Trump instead of denouncing him.

What that means is, Cruz is every bit as much indebted to GOP as Rubio or Kasich. They're all getting money from special interests and are compromised.

Trump is the ONLY one not on the payroll so he is the ONLY one who can act independently. It's Trump or GOP.

I think more accurately, the GOPe just ran out of all other alternatives to Trump, and Cruz is the only possibility left, so he’s the one they have to go with. They certainly don’t like Cruz, but Trump has always been the one the GOPe fears most because of his opposition to their globalist immigration and trade policies.
