IIRC, Kasich is an Episcopalian. My memory says they have had gay bishops for a long time now and that is the basis of the split that has left the ECUSA and has gone over to the African patriarchs. Anyone know if I have that correct?

He might have cost himself support, but Kasich is a solid Christian in my opinion. From what I see, his view is based on the secularization of “marriage” as a legal entity of “rights”, and not the Biblical model that God intends.
I agree with this view that they can call it whatever they want, it isn’t what Jesus speaks of in Matthew 19 where the topic was divorce, which had already begun secularizing marriage (redefining God’s institution to serve personal interests) even then.
As for commerce, I disagree with Kasich’s easy dismissal, but I have no problem with his “Christian Cred”.

Nobody has refused to service to any individual. What they have refused is participating in an event they dont agree with and find sinful. By Kasich logic, Christian photographers should be forced to shoot pornography and Christian doctors and nurses should be forced to do abortions as well.
But that’s exactly what Kasich said last night. He said, the Supreme Court ruled, therefore it’s over. Every time I hear a politician hide behind SCOTUS like that I want to crush my TV. It is such a cowardly, pandering statement.

It shouldn’t matter our reasons for refusing service. We should have the absolute freedom to be as arbitrary as we are with our spending as customers of other vendors in our reasoning.
Why do customers get the upper hand in discriminating when merchants don’t get a say? Unequal protection, anyone?

It seems that Indiana Governor Pence was corrupted in the same way. After bolstering religious freedom in state law, he completely reversed his stance, not to the previous neutral one, but FAVORING sexual deviants over Christians.
Well, I’m no theological expert, but I have a notion that Christians back during the Bible days wouldn’t exactly cotton to the ascention of perversion, depravity and evil to the societal norm in their midst. Unlike America-2016, courtesy a degenerate culture and a degenerate populace, led by liberal filth.
It’s hard to keep a Hoosier conservative once he gets into office. Even Dan Quayle voted for MLK Day.
Kasich might become president if he ran against Hillary Clinton for the democrat nomination.

If some KKK guys came to a black baker and asked him to make them a cake showing a black man getting lynched, should the black baker be forced to make it?
Isn’t he Catholic? I know the Archdiocese of Columbus is not going to be performing any same-sex “marriages” soon.
We have to choose in this world, and Kasich just chose the wrong way on this issue. Make sure your chosen candidate has made a clear, righteous choice. Kasich may not be the only goat in the herd.
Kasick used to be a Catholic, then quit going to church for years, then claimed he was Episcopalian......but still does not go to church. He now claims he’s “spiritual” and I’ve heard him say that organized religion just separates everyone and we all “need to get along”, and then give each other a big hug.
Rubio is another weirdo. As a child he was baptised Catholic, then when he was a kid his family moved to Utah and they were brain-washed by Mormans so be became Morman, then they moved away from Utah and he became a protestant, then a few years ago, probably when he decided to get in politics he once again started calling himself a Catholic, but does not go to Mass every weekend (as required by the Catholic Church), but goes one week, then the next week goes to his wife’s protestant church without attending a Catholic Mass. Now he’s got around to talking about the Bible all time to try and convince people he’s an evangelical, while at the same time claiming he’s Catholic. He’s just a patronizing politician that’ll say anything for a vote.
