I tend to agree with this assessment, but of course this doesn’t mean that Trump is a Christian. For we also know that God can use anyone as his instrument. But of course, there is still the difficulty in discerning what is the righteous thing to do as a voter...
Following Trump’s example, it’s fair game...
Ok. So he has been a “Christian” since he was young? Then why did he support partial-birth abortion and why was he pro-choice for so long? Why all the divorces and the subsequent marriage to a porn star? Why did he say that he hardly ever asks God to forgive him? I’m not saying that he definitely isn’t a Christian, but on the other hand we are told to judge a tree by its fruit. Anyone can claim to be a Christian. Even Pelosi, Hillary and Obama do it.

Jew, yes.. but atheist? We’ve seen the tragic results in the past century of what atheists in positions of power have brought. No thanks. This country needs to renew a closeness with the God of the Bible, not away from it.
I think people misunderstand judgement in Biblical terms. We can look at a persons fruits and determine if we think they have sinned. What we should not do is say how God will judge them. We have no idea who God will love and forgive. Many Biblical figures sinned, but they were forgiven those sins.
The judge not lest ye be judged means don’t assume you know what only God knows.

Not massively, but maybe a little.
Anti-Catholic sentiment is certainly less common among evangelicals than it was decades ago, but it’s not altogether dead in places like upstate SC, where Bob Jones and company have quite a following.
Therefore, I guess a small bit of mild Pope-bashing is not necessarily a bad tactic for Trump, at least while he’s campaigning in the “Bible Belt” states.

I dont know what the cult of Ted book says but the Christian bible says , “all who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.” The Lord is Jesus not Cruz. Donald Trump professes to have called on the name of Jesus, not the Dominionist’s god or Beck’s devil.
The guy is a disgrace, and Trump played it very well, no anti-Catholicism at all, just against the stupidity of what this Pope said.
And yes, the man is a moron much of the time. His entering into left wing politics is a disaster for his church.

Trump has not made this an issue, he’s not flaunting his religious propensity like Cruz. It’s the Pope that brought it up after some very biased prepping.
