Just curious who had the most supporters at these rallies?

Because you think supporting open racial supremacist organizations doesn’t matter and will not follow people who engage in such?

My wife, as conservative as it gets, can’t stand Cruz and can not even explain why.

Unless she has a personal relationship with him this is easy to explain... the media. It's why people support Hillary and can't name a single accomplishment. It's why people think Obama has been a successful president. She has been influenced by the very people she hates and doesn't even realize it.

You will have to guess again. She hates the media too. That would make her like him more. I don’t particular like him either and it has nothing to do with the media.

A civil and pleasant response. I am momentarily stunned. :)

I suppose the problem I have with Rubio is the adjustment is too big. It’s a lot to go from the Gang of Eight’s Democrat Party Expansion Bill to “Now you can trust me never to do anything that stupid again.” That and the fact that Cruz caught him red-handed with that Univision double-speak.

Don’t misunderstand. I don’t see any of them as perfect. But we do have a presidential job to fill and these are the candidates. Of the lot, for any of his imperfections, I still see Cruz as best able to reverse the damage done by Obama. Obama was a well-trained constitutional mechanic who understood the Constitution well enough to be very effective at sabotaging it. We need someone with equal or greater skill in the fine art of constitutional mechanics to be able to rebuild what’s been broken. Nobody in the running is better equipped for that task than Cruz.

As for the Cruz aversion factor some folks experience, I chalk it up to the Hollywood casting syndrome. My own daughter, bless her, was briefly infatuated with Rubio. Appearance and presentation can overcome a lack of other credentials for many people. Cruz has an unusual feature set. And his voice isn’t standard Hollywood presidential voice actor material. Mine isn’t either. A lot of people are affected by what they subconsciously expect a president should look and sound like. Rubio does well in that area. I’ll give him that. Except too young. He needs some gray in his temples.

Peace,

SR

“Ted’s not standing for it! Go Cruz!”

Are you sure that’s a good idea?
Ted has a map of Canada tattooed on that part of him that crosses the fence last.
Whenever he sits down, Quebec separates.

Maybe so. I really just get after Cruz with people that trash Rubio for no good reason. I really don’t think Cruz is electable, and it is not media driven either. It is just a gut think for me. Any of them is better than Hillary and I will support the ticket if we nominate a Republican. The exception is Trump and it was Paul as well. Don’t have to worry about Paul anymore. Trump is a disaster.

Trump is a disaster.

We agree on that. My lib coworkers want him to be the GOP candidate. They think they are on the cusp of a crushing victory against us meanie conservatives. Trump has a limit within the GOP and will galvanize the left, so they could get their wish. If Hillary or Bernie get their hands on the Supreme Court, game over. Wish my children didn't have to see this.

Peace,

SR

I think the argument he is making is that (at least until he suddenly and very recently came up with the names of 2 conservative judges) Trump was a) liberal b) said his very liberal sister is an excellent choice for SCOTUS c) supported very anti-gun candidates. Therefore, he might name a couple of judges on the campaign trail, but he is likely to still pick relatively “moderate” or even liberal judges in the actual event.

Trump fans can point to his recent pronouncements, but his history is contrary. I would add that Trump seems to have a very limited understanding of the Constitution. How can someone who doesn’t understand the Constitutional capably judge a Supreme Court pick who is a Constitutionalist?

I’ve had it with the GOP. If the party doesn’t get behind Ted Cruz I am finished with them. They should forget about their own plans and get behind the one who can resist the evil that is overpowering us. He has THE ONE who can keep us safe with him.
