The coroner does not have to see the body. This is not irregulars or unusual. If the deceased were named Smith it would have been handled the same way

Just stop the ridiculous over reaction

All I am saying is that procedure was not followed, or at best was sloppily performed, regarding the death of a high profile government official.

Why don’t you admit you’d rather look the other way?

By the way, the County Judge and the JPs are not the same persons. If the JPs are not available the duty devolves on the County Judge.

The Presidio County Judge is Cinderela Guevara. The Assistant County Judge is Crystal S. Funke http://co.presidio.tx.us/default.aspx?Presidio_County/County.Judge

The JPs are Judge David Beebe and Judge Juanita Bishop http://co.presidio.tx.us/default.aspx?Presidio_County/Justice

Tex. Code Crim. Proc. Art. 49.07(c)(2) If no justice of the peace serving the county in which the body or body part was found is available to conduct an inquest, a person required to give notice under this article shall notify the county judge, and the county judge shall initiate the inquest. http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/CR/htm/CR.49.htm

(i) If a justice of the peace determines that a complete autopsy is unnecessary to confirm or determine the cause of death, the justice may order a physician to take or remove from a body a sample of body fluids, tissues, or organs in order to determine the nature and cause of death.

Thank you for this. Nice to see some facts posted instead of uninformed ridicule, scoffing and sniping.

Even if procedure had not been codified--which it apparently is--taking samples is the patently obvious and common sense thing to do in this situation, and would honor the family's wishes not to have an autopsy.

We don't know for a fact that samples were not taken. Perhaps there were. I'd like to think there'd be some glimmer of competence in all this, but that optimism seems unwarranted.

With no autopsy and the track record of this regime, how can we believe that he was not murdered to advance the cause of progressivism?

Plenty of people throughout the ages...have died of poisoning.

And it looked like natural causes

Not saying that's what happened here...but, with such an important person in America, and a important time in America...I would have expected a high level investigation.
