Info on SCOTUS appointments
WE ARE SO SCREWED - why even vote in 2016?
STEP ONE: The President selects a nominee Nomination: The President announces a nomination to the Senate.
Nominee's Paperwork: The nominee completes paperwork concerning finances and personal background.
FBI Investigation: The FBI probes the nominee's criminal history, if any.

Worry now is Obama’s recess appointment when congress goes on break in January before Obama’s last day.

I disagree, this is a political decision. Who is up for a vote is the potential nominator and confirmers of the next Justice. The Constitution lays out a process. Executing that process is a political decision. Since this is an election year, let the public weigh in through their votes first before we get a nominee. Let's say that is true. Then do you think the Supreme Court Justices might start retiring during election years to influence elections? Each situation is unique, and I agree that this is one certainly is. But I am not for a biased result just because it suits me. I am going to be listening tonight too, and I will see which one is the least political and the most Constitutional. I hope I am not disappointed.

Yes, but the Supreme Court ruled that to be Unconstitutional: Noel Canning v. NLRB NLRB v. Noel Canning (2014). Sorry, flipped the case name.

Dan Coats is another one.
He’s already retiring, so he doesn’t have to face the voters again

She is his sister, he isn’t going to publicly slam her. Rationality doesn’t come into play within families.
She may, in fact, be a great trial judge, which is a very different creature from an appellate judge. Unless he wins and nominates her, I don’t care.
I am more interested what qualities he thinks are important in a SC Justice, I want him, Cruz, Jeb!, and the rest grilled hard on this.
Full Disclosure- I am a Cruz supporter who is not really impressed by the Donald.

It is mandatory that he lay in state in the Capitol Rotunda and there be a national day of morning is beyond question. The flags should fly at half staff for one month !!

A lot of the American people are real dullards.
“A recent survey showed that nearly ten percent of recent college graduates say that television star Judith Sheindlin is on the Supreme Court.” Fox News Published January 19, 2016
Judge Judy does make $47-million per year. The 9 Justices salaries added together make about $2.2-million total.

I know they almost never do the right thing, but with Trump’s popularity, maybe we have them running scared now. We will not re-elect them.
I know... hope springs eternal.

I don’t think there were any red flags about Roberts.
That’s what makes it so easy to speculate there was something “off the record” that was used to blackmail him.
I don’t buy into that, but his O’Care decision was pretty uncharacteristic of him

Zero would have to nominate someone, and they would need to be confirmed. Itâs not going to happen till after the election.
And what makes you say that? The GOP will be giddy approving any LIBTARD that Obumbler appoints, just like they did with that fine Latina Justice.
Sotomayor was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on August 6, 2009 by a 68 - 31 vote and was commissioned by boy Emperor Obama the same day.

Nope. An Indian from India. Unlikely. A Pakistani from Pok-eeee-stan is far more probable.

We can put off Obama’s appointment (we have that power but no telling what the Rinos will do), but the tilted court will go on hearing cases while the new member is in process.
To: House Atreides
We have just lost a very great man and I fear for our country. We have to prevent Obama from replacing him. This is the hill to die on.
