A position predicated on Trump being sincere.
If he’s not sincere, then all else is moot.
It’s that question of sincerity that weighs heavy on my mind. Given his past positions and admitted willingness to do whatever he needs to do to get his way, I’m not understanding the trust factor.
“IF elected he has ZERO intention of building a wall or sealing the border. He is totally owned by the no-borders, globalist crony corps and NGOs. “
Trump is the “ the no-borders, globalist crony corps and NGOs. “
Plus he needs a new hair advisor.
Your breakfast?
You win the idiot post of the day, and it’s only 7:30.
This has been a lively election cycle. I simply have fun poking fun at the candidates and issues. Nothing personal. The graphics are a hobby and serve as a diversion from my work.
Cruz is my second choice, any other year he would be my first choice. I have reasoned this through.
What we think in nano-seconds could fill a book. I will work out a post that will articulate my reasons in a succinct manner and will post it soon.
“admitted willingness to do whatever he needs to do”
That is a feature not a glitch.
The system is rigged for a Globalist outcome. The Uni-Party and Media have been working in concert to crush the Republic.
Tail gunner Joe was right.
NAFTA was the first direct hit that undermined America as a manufacturing giant.
Any pol that does not support a wall and strict immigration practice is declaring his willingness to sacrifice the lives of their constitutes: they don’t care if you die.
The nightmare that Joe McCarthy could foresee and tried to undermine now knocks on the bedroom door. The United States has been systematically compromised. Or in the words of Nikita Khrushchev, “We cannot expect the Americans to jump from capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism. “
The USA is actually, really, is at the point of seriously considering electing a Socialist as POTUS!
We must think outside the box to stop this perversity.
No, a regular run of the mill politician/lawyer will not do.
To me, Trump is much like a powder keg that has been stored for years. You strategically place it on the supports of the bridge, blow the bridge and you can stop the enemy advance...so you light the fuse, and hope the powder is still dry.
I'm actually quite open to listening to opinions on why Trump is the better choice for the moment, despite obvious flaws. In short, I'm open to using Trump as a snow plow that the conservative movement can swing in behind, but I in no way trust Trump to carry my banner. I think Trump will be driving the snow plow where he decides to go, and I'm not pushing the plow unless its going in my direction. If that were the common argument on FR, we'd be having win-win discussions about our primary options.
At the first debate I looked at the stage and thought that we had the best line up of candidates that we've had in 30 years. Despite many of their flaws, every single one of them (sans Graham) were vastly superior to Sanders and Clinton.
That said, I share the common view held by FRumpsters and Cruzers that we are at a tipping point that requires more, much more, than another tepid Republican. I'm quite happy to see Bush failing and Cristy off the stage, and I'd like to see Kasich go soon. Walker was a disappointment. Rubio is better than most of our previous candidates, but he is compromised on immigration, and he's not the firebrand we need. Carson was never a serious candidate. Paul was good to have on stage, because its always good to have a libertarian to ground the discussion.
I have a many reservations with Cruz, mainly experience, but I consider the attacks on his character to be petty and disingenuous. Given the fight he has put up in D.C., I also consider such attacks coming from the Right to be treacherous. Churchill and John Adams both rubbed their political adversaries the wrong way, and charges of lack of civility coming from Trump backers is almost too rich to listen to.
I have also stated that I tend to split my political time these days between defending Trump from the charge that he's just a clown, and attacking what I see as a Trump cult of personality. Trump may turn out to be a great strategy, but he is not the new head of conservative ideology, and he most certainly the conservative messiah.
If Trump is elected POTUS, he will be at best a 60/40 win for conservatives. We may get back control of our borders and immigration, but I would expect Leftist SCOTUS picks. Trump may eventually get my vote, but he'll never get my loyalty or hopes. I would need to see two-years in office before I had any certainty that Trump wouldn't just up and go full Democrat on every position. What Trump does, he does for Trump, so I'd be ready to unhook your wagon when he makes that hard Left turn.
I get the analogy, but I'm not worried about whether the powder is dry. I'm worried about which bridge it will roll under before it blows.
Now that one I like.
