- With the Clintons, we first heard the words "scorched earth", meaning they and their mind-numbed minions did (and continue to do) anything in their power to attack their detractors - mostly on a personal level. For instance, all of Bill's victims suddenly became trailer-trash, with no facts to support the claims.
- With 0bama, everyone who disagrees with him is the enemy and either "cling to their guns and Bible", or are "unpatriotic", or worse.
- Now, Donald Trump carries on his own version, but basically the same theme - attack the individual, not their ideas or record. For instance, according to The Donald, how many of the other Presidential candidates are stupid, ugly, and/or lazy?
And it seems to me that we have all allowed that type of rhetoric to invade even our conservative our culture. For all too many of us, the first impulse is to attack others personally when they disagree with us, rather than address their actions or words.
Case-in-point: a lot of this discussion about Megyn Kelly - how she's a bimbo, prostitute, airhead.
We conservatives and Christians should be above that, and not stoop to the level of the liberals. Even if I don't like Megyn, or don't like something (or anything) she says, I have to admit she is successful in a quite competitive industry, and I don't have to resort to liberal name-calling. If I don't like her approach, I don't have to watch. If I don't like something she says, I should be able to say why in an intelligent, honorable way.
Someone once said, "There are two ways to make yourself look good - bring others down to your level or excel." I choose the latter and I believe if more conservatives / Christians did that, we would stand out even more and be sought out by those seeking a different tone.
$10 Million +?
Bloody 'L, you say...
The publishers must believe that she could sell enough books to make them a nice profit, or they wouldn’t bother.
