It sounds like after Finicum was shot, all the other agents had to get in their shots, so they just opened up on the truck. Which would make this similar to many other events from the past.

Because there were lasers all over them and the cops were shooting as soon as they hit the snow bank.

Cox does not say that there was shooting as soon as they hit the snow bank. She says firing started after Finicum got out.

Yes you are right, it is the definition of tragedy and excessive force.

I wish I could get someone with good graphic skills to post some of the pictures that are on Facebook. These Patriots met with the FBI on multiple occasions and they didn’t arrest them then. One must ask why did the FBI create this situation, snipers in the trees, drone overhead, etc. There was simply no need. They wanted the outcome they produced.

Check this one out. These guys are in Burns and all they'll say is they are there to "support the sheriff". They are armed, not in uniform, and refuse to identify themselves. (I believe this youtube channel view counter is tampered with)

Why was there a roadblock set up in the first place?

The Federal and state governments weren't just going to allow an occupation of a national wildlife refuge (or any federal or state facility) to continue indefinitely. That's the message they wanted to send. The FBI had already drawn up a criminal complaint against the leaders and given it to a judge, although it was being sealed. The people who were stopped were being pretty naive to think that they could just travel 100 miles from the refuge and return and nothing would change.

Once law enforcement saddles up with their high-tech toys, things can get carried away. The remaining leaders can try to fight their arrest in court. Too bad it is too late for LaVoy Finicum.
