Geez man they were singing this version in the schoolyard right after Dean Martin recorded That’s Amore.

There’s a Jewish version on youtube called “That’s A Menorah”. Then there’s a political version, “That’s a racist”.

`Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.’

The Tubes "Sushi Girl"

I'm glad someone got that one. It's amazing how many of these songs with food in the title area bout something other than food.

Yikes, I'm very late to the thread!

Has anyone mentioned "Tangerine Speedo" or "Sugarless" by Caviar?

(Well, ok, "tangerine" in the 1st instance is a color, but the band's name makes up for it!)

Anyway, stretching a bit, with wine as food:

"The Wizard", by Uriah Heep.

"He told me tales and he drank my wine, me and my magic man, kinda' feelin' fine."

"Days of Wines and Roses", by Henry Mancini. (See, I listen to more than just rock!)

Also "White Lightning and Wine" by Heart (Mushroom Records, btw, and we'll assume not the poisonous type!)

And stretching further, with whiskey as "food"(!?)

"That Smell", by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

"Whiskey bottles, and brand new cars, oak tree you're in my way."

With water as food, I did not see mentioned:

"Ice, Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice.

Then there are more bands, etc., with food in their name: Tangerine Dream comes to mind.

Oh, and has anyone mentioned “Chocolate Fudge” by Mannheim Steamroller?

(Once it really gets going, you’ll need goooood woofers to reproduce that one properly, off the CD! If you haven’t knocked the fixture off the ceiling light in the bathroom, you’re not there yet...)

:-)

To: Paul R.; All

Granted that “Fudge” was actually a play on words for “Fugue”.

No, I don’t know them - I just stumbled across the link while researching catfish!

Gee whiz, seems like just about everything has made its way to YouTube now. I’m constantly surprised. Yet the last time I tried to find something, a late-1920s Henry Busse recording I have on a rather scratchy 78, I struck out.
