Then Cruz and Trump and Rubio should publicly vow to restore Petraeus’s status retroactively, pardon him, and restore him to duty if he wishes. Petraeus leaked to his biographer. The Arkansas Medusa published secrets ABOVE top secret classification to intelligence operatives of ISIS, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Red China, and her other allies and her fellow enemies of the USA.

I’m with you on that one! General officers, like politicians, have a different set of rules that apply to them. Four stars are “demoted” to two stars and retired, while sergeants go to Leavenworth. And yes, I’m a retired officer - just not a flag officer.

Undoubtedly, as part of his grand entrance, he’ll ride in on a white, retarded horse and say something monumentally, but characteristically stupid that the mainstream media will ignore.

Ash Carter should remember always that the next American administration will have jurisdiction over Ash Carter (and her Imperial Entitledness and the Emperor from Kenya), if he is really so in love with retroactive judgment in matters already decided.

There is a difference between David Petraeus and ANYTHING associated with Obozo's treasonweasel administration: We trust Petraeus in spite of his lapse of judgment in this one instance.

That lapse in judgement would have sent anyone else to prison. What makes Petraeus above the law? Yes he was a great General, yes he is a Patriot, but he still broke the damn law and got off easier than you or I would have.

The answer why now is obvious. He went before the Benghazi committee and spilled the beans.

What’s YOUR problem with Petraeus? Was he suggesting a tryst with a loved one of yours? Note I waited until at least your fourth post to respond. You seem to have precious little of relevance to get you worked up.

Here’s what bothers me: grade determinations must be done before the service member retires. If they made a determination and processed his retirement package, and his retirement date has come and gone, it should be too late to revise.

*******************************************************

Now I gotta worry about some of the capers I pulled and that they may come after my good conduct ribbon 40 plus years after the fact.

My problem with Petraeus comes from the fact that I’m a Marine with a clearance. I’m retired from active duty, but work for DOD as a contractor. If I or any of the guys I work with do what he did, we would be put in prision. As a General Officer he had to know that what he was doing was against the law. He should be held accountable the same way I would be. How many soldiers did he recommend for court martial for doing the same crap he did? I’m sure there were a few. He got off easy. His life wasn’t ruined, he still gets a nice pension and he is paid well for speaking engagements. That would not be the case for you or I.

Obama and his Admin hate Petraeus for saving their asses.

The general will lose $100s of thousands in pensions and payments that have to be returned. But he can more than make that up with speeches about his work in the Obama administration specifically Benghazi. One more nail in Hilary's political coffin.

"This action sets it up to go after Hillary. It also sends a message to all other generals that “You can retire and we’ll still come after you so keep your mouths shut.”

They only have to keep them shut for 12 more months, then the flood gates will open!
