Restoration in that case is a stretch. Just keeping the thing going is a challenge. Besides I’m poor for the year.

I replaced a flood damaged Tacoma with a new one. Insurance covered a lot but depreciation is murder. With tight budgeting I should have the difference paid off in a year.

I finally got it running to the point where it idles with a new Weber 32/36. Linkage is another job among many others.

Here is it running. I’ve spruced the engine compartment some since. Likes and ad clicks are welcome. I could use the revenue.

Today I just ran it for a few minutes after I got in. It seems to be cold natured which is no shock there. I had to give it a tiny shot of 93 down the throat. It caught and ran fine. Maybe I’m not giving the electric fuel pump enough time to charge the line. I wait about 10 seconds.

The 82 CJ7 might be lot closer to restored than the Willys since it’s dead.

Yeah, the '65 "S" Barracuda was stored under cover in (dry) Central Texas during my 20 year "MA exile".

The good news is minimal rust. The bad news is everything organic (gaskets, wiring insulation, hoses, plastics, etc., etc... has to be replaced...

The worst news is that the guy who had promised to run it occasionally lost my keys -- so the high-performance 273CI V8 is locked up. :-(

I had planned for it to be my big retirement project -- not a new full-time career! Or, a full-nest-egg investment... :-(

Oh, well, "fiddling with" it beats sitting around -- watching the pine trees grow... '-)

BTW,thanks for the vid of the Willys running!

Gives me hope of hearing my 273 go from idle to 6K RPM in less than a second, once again... (Fastest revving factory-stock US-built engine I ever drove -- fun car!)

The worst thing is for them to sit up.

That Willys suffered from that off and on over the past few years I’ve had it.

Glad you like.

I would have used the good camera on a tripod but it threatened to rain as usual.
