And all the jackasses who did not do everything they could to keep Obama from a second term is having unbelievable consequences for the country.

People didn't vote for the lesser evil as president in 2012. Clearly, the lesser evil would have been Romney. Unfortunately, a real conservative was not going to win in Nov. 2012. I didn't want Romney, but either he or Obama would be president. Too many idiots stayed home or voted 3rd party instead of stopping Obama.

So I guess in this case, as far as the presidency is concerned, since the lesser evil was not actually elected, it blows the hell out of your comment. You will not get an argument when it comes to Congress.

~sigh~

With what we now know about the uniparty who could possibly be such a bitter clinger to the proposition that someone NOT voting for a GOPe dope is a jackass? Besides, only a jackass would call fellow FReepers jackasses. Very disappointing. Even if you truly believe you are right, you know you are going to piss off a lot of people. But you are not right.

The dominant enabling factor keeping the GOPe alive is their expected automatic lesser-of-two-evils voting drone. It is their lifeline. It is the very reason they do not run Conservative candidates. They see you as a useful idiot and you apparently don't care. Well that's your perogative. Facts have just not caught up with you yet, but countless others have figured it out and are no longer falling for this kabuki dance. Lead, follow or get out of the way.

Just out of curiosity, do you follow the lesser-of-two-evils in your personal life? One babysitter is a klepto and another is a pyromaniac, who's better? If your daughter is deciding between a drug-dealing rapper homeboy or a deadhead stoner do you pick one? Or, your son is torn between the crack whore next door and the captain of the boys track team? Or you're buying a car. Or a House. There's a million things like that you would never settle for the lesser evil, demand a higher standard or walk away, and you know it. Yet here we have the highest office in the land and you wonder why people do the same? They are not shirking their duty, they are doing it.

But not everyone was fighting GOPe in 2012. There were a multitude of problems going in, and it is amazing that anyone felt Romney was a good choice. Two opponents, not one, but both with questionable NBC status. The father of Romneycare vs the father of Odumbocare! That yanks two issues right off the table. The GOPe thought it wise to push a Mormon even though a far more numerous Catholic barely squeaked by in 1960. The killer is that the Natural-Born-Muslim calls himself a Christian so he probably peeled away Christians from the Mormon dude! You really can't make this sh!t up. And you really wonder why many stayed home? Maybe you should consider the possibility that the GOPe never intended on winning. We know Mitt believed this since he refused to bet his own money on himself and took taxpayer funds and donations.

But here is the fact that must have never crossed your mind. From January 20 1977 until January 20 1981 there were people talking like you. Especially during the 444 days that 52 hostages were covered on the nightly news. Damn those people who stayed home and gave us Jimmuh! But guess what? Without peanut boy the entire timeline changes and Reagan may never see the White House.

That means if Romney won in 2012 we not only would get all the same Socialism with some lipstick applied. Moreover, Hillary would be a shoe-in this year. We would also lose all possibility of destroying GOPe today and get an outsider down there. Let's just not make the same mistake and not double-tap the GOPe when they are wounded this time around, finish them off so they never rise again like they did during Reagan's 2nd term and beyond.

If you really want to know what's happening, think of it as Kirk's solution to the Kobayashi Maru no-win scenario. The people are saying Screw this and reprogramming the computer. Or, you can let the Klingons and Romulans continue their charade.

With all due respect, I think this is precisely why she will be the nominee.

Rush just had a caller from Utah saying here entire family said they would not vote for Trump, saying Hillary couldn't possibly be any worse than Obama.

There you go folks.

Are all of those 32 democrats and doing the usual democrat thing—doing everything they can to protect the democrat machine?

I read somewhere. . don't have the source, that they signed nondisclosure national security pledges. Would be nice if one would be a whistle-blower.

It was not my choice, but we were faced with either Romney or Obama. Not doing everything possible to keep Obama out was foolish.

You gave several preposterous straw man arguments. I will give you one that is more appropriate. If you are having a heart attack and have just learned you also have to fight cancer, which do you fight first? I will fight the heart attack, which is immediately life threatening, and then I will fight the battle against cancer.

We have the same goal of battling the GOP-e. But allowing Obama a second term, after we saw what he was doing and knowing what he was planning, was national suicide. There is the right time and place to make a stand against the GOP-e. Timing is everything. It was not 2012. Obama was not just some Democrat. He was a person deliberately destroying the country. Jackasses let it happen.

Love the Tag Line. Hope you arent gonna charge me for living in your head Doug.

On another thread yesterday you said you’d fight him once in there or some such drivel. What did you plan on Douing Doug? What were you going to do when Mitt and uberconservative Paul Ryan went as left as obama on day 1, just as Ryan has since done as Speaker the second he got power?

NOTHING Doug. You would have done NOTHING and then WE would all have had it on our necks.

Romney did not wait 24 hours to repent of his severe campaign conservatism. He has since campaigned, fundraised and continues to go out of his way to ensure conservatives arent elected. And you STILL defend the aborted baby BBQ chef. People with sense have since admitted Romney was a mistake. You won’t. Says all anyone needs to know.

Oh and BTW, try not to selectively edit any more of my posts when trying to get your vengeance.

The last time I had TV, Dale Earnhardt took his last bite of concrete. Since then I have SOMEHOW managed to survive (rether well actually) without dish, Cable, an antenna, HULU/Netflix or any other paid propaganda outlet.

Having been a reporter/Editor I fully understand how the system works from the inside. What is frustrating as hell is that it is so obvious and yet people refuse to see it. Or more to your point, refuse to kick their addiction as you so aptly put it.

I think the level of media consumption "yugely" explains Trump's jaw-dropping appeal -- it's amazing how many people don't get that the History Channel and A&E are MSM, just like Fox News is also MSM. They define America and their compatriots by what they see on the MSM -- the MSM is the foundation of their identity in it.

When you live without TV or cable -- all of that is blessedly out of the way!

{^) I see one long-time FRiend and compatriot conservative, praising Trump because he has the "actual ability to smash the maddening, decades-old PC paradigm that has kept the nation in a suffocating, ossified strangehold that has fed and bred the march towards degenerate cultural-Marxism."

As demonstrated ... ??? Really? "Actual ability" perceived through a media personality? They think he's only a media personality because he's such a smart guy, but the reality is that he's a media personality because as a billionaire, he also wanted to be famous. Wealth should be accompanied by fame, I guess.

I really hope people wake up to that essential truth, but they watch so damned much TV!!!

There were articles out today about Democrats having doubts about Hillary beating Trump. It looks like Trump has nothing to do with it. They are having doubts about Hillary beating Sanders after Trump uses this in a campaign ad.

I don’t either. I am afraid that hey have someone just as far left, waiting in the wings, letting Hillary take all he fire until it is too late to launch a meaningful opposition campaign.

doug -- what did you do to help drive the GOP left? You did the same thing I did. Exactly the same thing I did and why I accept responsibility for pushing the GOP left when I voted for Arnold, Meg Whitman, Dubya, McCain, and who knows how many left-leaning Republicans over the decades -- those were stupid votes and I regret them.

Doug, you actively move things left when you vote for leftists.

Stop doing that. Start voting for what you want to win. Start voting to move things right if that is what you want to win.

When you voted for Romney, no matter what you tell yourself, you voted for a Gay Youth Pride-loving Republican president who fathered Obamacare and was wholly sympathetic to the environmentalist "climate change" agenda. If he had won, that is what "we" would have won. Keep on voting for that, and things will continue to move left.

NUTS.

There are those who on this cycle will not vote for any R who does not fit their vision of what a Conservative is.

With respect, Thumper that is seeing it from an extreme angle. There are those who on this cycle will only vote for what they want to win -- limited government Constitutional conservatism.

More and bigger government done "our" way is what I want to lose, every time. If the R fits that vision of government solving problems, then my vote will go elsewhere.

See my tagline. It isn't about what I don't want -- it's about what I'll own if I win.

I'm approaching 60, a life-long conservative. Except for a brief spell in the mid '80s, I've been without cable and frequently without (or with minimal) broadcast TV since the late 1970s. TV is pretty much alien to me except in short bursts or classic TV shows in DVDs and videos, while confined to fixed chores. We have one TV and it's rarely on except in evenings for a movie/feature. My entire adult life been essentially free of TV, for peace of mind and better productivity. Am happily married for 26 years to a person of same persuasion, the same indifference and in fact repugnance for TV in general.

We know we are outliers, and we are always ... stunned by the banality and/or drone of TV when we see it elsewhere, not to mention constant psychic hammering of urgent commercials which I, a respecter of the power of language, think are as, if not more, harmful and damaging than any leftist propaganda. And I love commercials, they are the best and only things on TV, except when they manufacture fear and as the old Firesign Theater saying went, "Creating a need and filling it!" But that's a tangent ...

I have come to the conclusion that Television itself is inherently evil. It is a narcotic. People become addicted to it just as they would to a drug. We were better people when we didn't have Liberal propaganda disguised as entertainment spewing into living rooms every day. Do you know what people do when they can't watch television? It doesn't matter, but it is always more beneficial and productive than what they do when they watch television. Television ruins us in more ways than just the normalization of propaganda. It wastes our time. Time better spent doing almost anything else.

{^) I highly recommend that everyone everywhere voluntarily give up TV/cable for one year. Just one year. They'll survive, I promise! It's a life-changing event for many.

That said, the television/radio/broadcast medium is a tool, no better or worse than the person using it, and in broadcast, consumers are the users, exercising what they think is free will.

As for evil, narcotic -- it is theater in a box, and theater is a right and good thing. Certain religious fanatics could (and probably did) say the same of music, perfectly healthy young men who should be out hunting, sitting around all day making music!

Diogenes, all I know is that I thank God daily that I'm married to someone like me (and it sounds a bit like you and Norm), who prefers life free of TV.

:^)

Without TV my downtime became far more productive and ENJOYABLE. I found new interests, Learned more useful things and have been better for the experience.

Today the only TV I see is at Dr. appts and I am repulsed. The sheer level of stupid coming off that screen boggles the mind. I don’t know how a thinking person can be entertained or informed by it.

If I want to see half naked news babes, I’ll rent a porno.

If I want to see gay men ...well I don’t so scratch that.

Agenda in every random program I have seen.

My TV is used for 2 things. As a computer monitor and video gaming. And I find, no joke, the scripted lines of a videogame show more intelligence than nost people I have encountered in the last few years. TV addicts all I’m sure.

They really do not 'want' a dictator.
