All of the lovely ladies should get “participation crowns” from now on. Crowning just one of them makes the other girls feel bad and we can’t have that.
I agree except I wouldn’t fire the host. It was a big goof. It is funny to all but Miss Columbia. She will reap lots of benefits and get over it. She will always be the shortest reigning Miss Universe. No one will ever replace her for that title. LOL.
Give the host some grace. It is a beautiful thing that there is far too little of in this world. He is a great host who simply goofed up reading the card.
Well, I am very conservative but that was my first thought when I read about this story.
Ordinarily I would agree, but she was awarded the crown. She actually put the crown on her head.
She won.
Then she was un-awarded the crown.
I think just this year, they should make an exception and grant the title to both ladies. Miss Philippines won’t be offended, and it would be great for South American public relations.

The entire exchange/episode was devastating to watch. I can only imagine being any one of the three it affected....the REAL Miss Universe/Miss Philippines, Miss Colombia and Steve Harvey.
Harvey will FOREVER be remembered for this.
The crazier thing, is that Perazz and Harvery had just mocked Trump (thankful he no longer owned the pageant), just minutes before. I guess Trump got the last laugh, on them :^/

well - liberals like the idea of co-winners. It was an unfortunate mistake but there is only one winner in these pageants. Miss Columbia has to be tough and suck it up.
He did not destroy her entire professional life. He probably made it. She is more talked about than she would have been had he not done that. If she responds with grace and class she will be a huge professional success. If she responds like a diva she will not. It is in her court.

During the Q&A phase of the contest, Harvey seemed lost, like a deer in the headlights, or drunk. There is no doubt that he was unrehearsed and had no idea about how the winner between the last 2 contestants was announced.
Otherwise, he provided the most fun of the night, especially with his big mistake.
He loves everyone at least for a while!

Trump's solution unjustifiably demotes Miss Philippines and unjustifiably elevates Miss Colombia. That is not a win-win solution.
Why should Miss Philippines be forced to pay a price for Steve Harvey's mistake?

In life there are winners and losers. The losers have no choice but to deal with it.
Declaring both girls “The Winner” simply dilutes whatever alleged value possessed by the title of “Miss Universe.”
