Pretty simple, firearm possession in a gun free zone. Ignorance of the law is no excuse.............Not saying it's right or wrong but that's the way it is.
It would appear there is a conflating of retail posting of ‘gun free zone’ or no guns allowed, with a government declaration of no guns allowed beyond this point, such as in a Courthouse. In a retail establishment, if I’m carrying concealed and never pull it, there is no reason for any action against me. If I take a loaded firearm into a government posted building, I’m inviting trouble for myself because a government building can have you searched anywhere, anytime, if someone complains.
