My first real job required filling out a “daily report” by 15 minute segments for items we worked each day. My first report was almost 2 pages in length and the procedure was to turn it in promptly to the manager the next morning.

I turned in my first report and my manager asked what the hell is that. I told him my daily. He said look rookie, you give me a report each day that shows your hours spent on one thing, period. I don’t need you wasting time filling some dumb..s report upper management promotes. I know who is screwing off and who is not and don’t need some f..k..g report to tell me that.

Guy had a high school degree only and was the smartest street wise manager I ever worked for.

sometimes “the system” is virtually intended to encourage lying. it might roughly come out in the wash at the end, and it might be way more busy work than justified, but still.

If that graph were not the truth unemployment in Pittsburgh would be at least 35%.

Don't jump to conclusions, dammit!

That medical costs got absurdly ridiculous during the First Rapist's presidency is a total coincidence.

Yep.
Total coincidence!

Evidently, the government ignores its own statistics, or is too stupid (most likely) to make the obvious connection.

When government employment becomes just another huge welfare scam, this is the inevitable result.

The indolent just get another permanent check.

Yes, that includes regulators and imbecile think tanks...
In addition to elected criminals with sub-60 IQs...

It’s not so much the growth in the number of administrators that’s the problem as it is the lack of growth in the number of physicians.

Yes, the start of the unholy alliance between employers and doctors was a result of FDR’s wage freeze that caused employers to offer doctor visits and other health benefits for the purpose of attracting and retaining top employees.

That graph is not really informative because it’s stated in percent growth and you don’t know what the beginning and ending levels are. If you could find a chart that shows real numbers of physicians and administrators it would be more informative.

Lest we not forget, that all these government administrators make about 150% more than us common working folk...

“Evidently, the government ignores its own statistics, or is too stupid (most likely) to make the obvious connection.”

The government is a non profit. It is in the business of spending other people’s money, keeping all the employees it has, and then adding even more. It does not have to show a profit to stay in business, it only costs.

Government is not in the business of getting itself out of business.

Yep, more externally imposed control increases cost and decreases efficiency.

But leftists so love their control that, for them, their increase in power makes it all worth while.

Does that mean government is also a huge, voracious, greedy parasite? /sarc

...a huge, voracious, greedy parasite...about to kill its host.

More people getting checks than people making the money to pay them.

Bingo.
And especially when the administrators are an unnecessary bureaucratic layer of make-work, pencil-pushing, government flunkies not only does the cost "necessarily skyrocket" but access to, and quality of healthcare plummets.
The current ObamaCare disaster, Exchange failures, Mooch's pal and her laughably incompetent computer program, the comedy gold "Navigators", etc., are just the beginning.
It will only get markedly worse as time goes by.
If honest, competent people in the government don't come to the realization that ObamaCare must be trashed completely and take appropriate action ... I worry for this great nation.

Wild. I guess the real question is what law was passed around 1991 that would spike the requirement for administrators?
