Erdogan wanted to “have his picture taken with the bear”, he shouldn’t act surprised by the possibility of ending up “ Timothy Treadwell’d”.
If only we could toss in Brak Ubama to the deal when it goes down.
“We don’t want him, you can have him.”

Does anyone else see the delicious irony in Obama telling Erdogan to seal his southern border? Charity starts at home Obama!!!

Sorry to double comment, but this story is intriguing. I had Obama pegged as a Erdogan supporter in line with his almost fanatical support of the Muslim brotherhood. So why is Obama turning against Erdogan and seemingly with Putin and Hollande? Are the political winds taking a turn for the worst? Where will Obama ultimately stand? Or is the pressure coming from the Democrat party (and the left in general) being in so much political trouble now he is forcing himself to change? Is 2016 going to be a gun-grabbing, pro-Islam, climate globaloney year Obama dreams of, or has the reality of the suicide pact of liberalism been laid bare finally?

It is just that Obama has to control the extent of damage he did. It must pain him to do this.

I think Putin just told him to go along or all would be revealed to the world leading to total chaos among goverments and revolution. And all the blame would point to Obama and the elites for it.

Deservedly so.

Erdogan must pay and pay dearly for playing the double-edged game of supporting radical Islam while attacking it. Turkey will squeeze it's way into Europe in exchange for “dumping” the so-called “refugees” onto Turkish soil. Putin is already being blocked in the Bosporus straits by Turkey...is this an act of war?

Isolated?

The Turkish president is taking part in a diplomatic conference in Brussels today.

Turkey recieves 3bln euros and visa-free travel to the EU over their promised services on the refugees' issue.

EU keeps its eyes closed over the recent murder of a Kurdish lawer during a protest meeting.

EU de-facto boycottes Israeli imports with the new 'tagging' requirement.

It's such a sweet isolation, that would make honey taste bitter comparing to all these 'Turkish delights'.

this is nonsense.
“Credit for the inspired diplomacy of turning crisis into opportunity goes to Hollande and US President Barack Obama, who apparently have decided that the overall objective of ending the war in Syria should not be held hostage to Turkeys aggressive response to the Russian warplanes alleged violation of Turkish airspace. “
Obamas overriding objective as he has repeatedly stated is getting rid of Assad. His entire idiot response has been about that and nothing more. Where did this guy get his notion from? His entire article is full of fabrications and half truths.

I suspect Obama is in disarray. He wants to pursue his agenda, but lately it became almost impossible. He can still cling to it but we know where it will lead to. I haven’t heard his call for toppling Assad regime. There is some peace talk on Syria scheduled early next year. One of the issues on the table is reportedly whether Assad would stay in power or step down, while they attempt to create some coalition government made up of Alawites, the ruling power, and other “acceptable” opposition groups. This plan is proposed by Russians at the onset of their military intervention. I am sure Obama will again tenaciously argue for Assad’s ouster. But he may have to wait.

I am guessing that Obama's call to support Turkey's right to defend its border by shooting down the Russian aircraft did not receive a warm reception at JCS or theater command. We might "prevail" in a war with Russia that does not go nuclear (tell me what those circumstances are please?) but we will loose a lot of toys and boys in the process. But we don't go to war over parking tickets.

The fundamental problem is that we have for all intents and purposes created ISIL, to use Obama's fantasy term, and have virtually acknowledged it as a state with a capital, an economy and most favored trading status with our allies the Turks. When are we going to DAESH a seat in the UN?

Folks don't like Putin, but he seems to be supporting the policy most aligned with the interests of the western world, if that concept still exists.

it might be difficult to push 'the unruly teenager of the Transatlantic Alliance' to invoke Article 5

Well forget about the unruly teenager. Can you imagine Ike's reaction to this sort of nonsense?

We have an “unruly child” at WH. That is probably how Ike would see it if he were alive today. Come to think of it, he is actually both unruly and sanctimonious.
