Maybe you should have thought things through before you sided with savages, Erdogan.

Turkey backs isis. Obama backs Turkey.
We need to lock Washington DC down forever if they think we should defend Turkey. Turkey has never done anything for us or NATO.

You stab Putin in the back and you may be the one getting burned. I hope so. Turkey is a cancer that must be cleansed.

Russia beating Turkiye in a shooting war and not taking an unacceptable amount of damage is not a forgone conclusion without the use of nukes. It would be like China “teaching Vietnam a lesson” in 78. The Chinese accomplished what they said they meant to do but at a horrific cost that dissuaded them from doing it again.

I’m beginning to wonder if this isn’t a Kabuki exercise between Russia and Turkey with an aim to implode NATO.

The fire is Islam. Erdogen is an Islamist. It is he who ignites things.

I remember Turkey forced U.S. to change war plan on Iraq when they blocked passage of U.S. Army’s 4th Infantry Division through Turkey. Erdogan was Turkey’s Prime Minister.

So Turkey relies on other nations for it’s petroleum products and makes some money on the pipelines transiting to Europe, some of which carry Russian products.
Syria is also a proposed/desired transit point for Qatari gas pipeline which would supply Europe and compete with Russian gas. But Assad will not allow the pipeline.
This makes for an interesting situation.

meanwhile in an earlier article... "In an interview with France 24 on Thursday afternoon, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "If we had known if it was a Russian plane maybe we would have warned it differently." MAYBE ?!?!?!?

I wish that Putin would spend more time talking about the loss of these pilots. It must be devastating for the families. However, Putin actually seems more upset that Turkey stuck a pin in his macho routine. Putin could use a bit more humility. He is dealing with very complicated problems.

That could be difficult - after the killing of the Russians, the whole area was not only heavily bombed, but heavily shelled by the Syrian Army.
