Actually no it is not. Zero wants to pluck the principle out of its real life context. No founder of this nation would have supported bringing in terrorist refugees. Since it is at this point practically impossible to tell which muslims want to kill us and which do not (especially of the foreign sort) then we should right now not accept any of them. It is not a religious test. It is a national security test.
As for compassion, our money would be better spent supporting them closer to their home. Then we should help restore their homeland and bring them back. There is no need to bring them here.
