Ditto for Africa. In fact virtually ever country around or just below the Equator has increased their population manyfold. Africa had a population of about 300 million fifty years ago. Now they are close to a billion. I doubt an Anarctic spell hit Africa in those fifty years.

I can attest to the fact that this is true. A number of summers ago I had a left over room air conditioner, and gave it to a friend and his wife who lived in one of those old two story frame houses with an upstairs bedroom. This was where they placed the AC unit.

A few weeks later I was at a party where I only knew a few people. I happened to walk into a room where the wife was talking to a number of the guests. She saw me, and introduced me to the guests: "Meet my friend 'Jackpine'. He's the person responsible for a recent major improvement in my sex life!"
