How the heck are they going to find out who buys one?
Gov. Coumo to Require NY State Recreational Drone Operators to Register their drones under the SAFEDRONE ACT>.
Let's go fly a Kite
Up to the highest height
Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a Kite
Let's go pay a Fee
Let's give up our Identity
Let's go pay a Fee and give up freedom
Down to the DMV
Surrender to the Bureaucracy
Oh, let's recall being Free
Define “recreational”. If I am patrolling my property with a drone, it is a tool, not a toy. If I’m using it to keep tabs on the regime, it’s a weapon (in their eyes).
>>>Heck, I bought 4 of them last year at Radio Shack for Christmas gifts<<<
So, you’re one of those Straw Buyers huh?
Good bust there KAC.
Just what Big Government wants: More bureaucracy, more red tape and the ordinary citizen paying dearly for justice.
That is the trouble with saying they are going to register them. Cavuto is doing a segment on this right now. Said over 700,000 will be purchased this year as gifts.
The stupidity is overwhelming.
Are Drones serialized like Guns? Is there a Grandfather Clause? Are there Classifications on Drones such as Assault Drones, Semi Auto Drones or Drones with more than 10 Propellers? Age Restrictions for owning and operating a Drone? Mental Health Restrictions for purchasing one?
How about RC Airplanes? They even make Jet Engines for those nowadays. Put a couple of M-80’s on one and Bomb the White Hut. The SS Guys on the Roof won’t be able to shoot it down if it’s coming in fast and low.
You wake up every day and say to yourself, what Moronic Government idea will impact my Life and Freedom?
They never disappoint.
"The FAA announced on Monday that recreational drone operators will be required to register their aircraft."
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponents Argument
Not only have the states never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate drones, but even if the states had done so, please consider the following.
The Founding States had made the first numbered clauses in the Constitution, Sections 1-3 of Article I, to clarify that only the elected members of Congress can exercise federal legislative / regulatory powers. So even if the states had delegated such powers to Congress, Congress cannot delegate such powers to non-elected federal bureaucrats like those running the EPA and FAA.
So what were seeing here is the corrupt federal government once again expanding its powers outside the framework of the Constitution. Note that Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, Madison generally regarded as the father of the Constitution, had warned about the federal government slowly expanding its powers without the consent of the Article V state majority as evidenced by the following excerpts.
I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. James Madison, Speech at the Virginia Convention to ratify the Federal Constitution (1788-06-06)
"I consider the foundation of the Constitution as laid on this ground: That "all powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States or to the people." [X Amendment] To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specifically drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless field of power, no longer susceptible of any definition." --Thomas Jefferson: National Bank Opinion, 1791.
Also, all roads to unconstitutional expansion of the federal governments powers arguably lead to the ill-conceived 17th Amendment, the corrupt Senate not doing its job to protect the states as the Founding States had intended for the Senate to do as a consequence of that amendment.
In this example the Senate should have killed legislation that helped to delegate federal regulatory powers, powers that Congress actually does not have in this case, to non-elected federal bureaucrats like those running the EPA and the FAA.
The 17th Amendment needs to disappear, and corrupt senators who help to pass unconstitutional bills which steal 10th Amendment-protected state powers along with it.

This is the problem with being a Conservative.
Now that the Government wants to get involved in the ownership of Drones, I will have to go out and purchase one before they pass a new Law.
I had no interest in owning one until now. My Wife will be pissed when I bring a new Drone home from the Store. I’ll have to pay Cash so there is no Paper Trail. LOL
.. And then they said, why not guns too, and since gays were registered in marriage through the census, voilà, the Hitler liberals had a head start.
I lost all mine in a tragic, overturned canoe accident.
Victims still won’t have any information with which to identify them (tiny numbers, shifting around quickly?). They’ll hit, run and cause all kinds of trouble. Meanwhile, government employees are allowed to cross frequencies to stop them with radio waves, while others are not (automatic immunities with no need for legislation). More trouble, more funding to participate in trouble.
If I mount a gun on my drone, would they be allowed to make me register it?
