Don’t give me that. You were here during the last two elections. You know damn well who and how many.

Too many to name. There were a lot of Frinos pushing Mitt. Pushing McCain. And if by some strange circumstance, they will be all over Jeb too if(ha) he wins.

The color red is far more important to them than conservatism.

Look at how rather than fight for Cruz, half the ‘conservatives fixate on one bad vote and forget all the good he has done for conservatism.

Just so I understand what you are saying. Your pushing a guy that voted to give complete control over treaties and trade with other nations to the democrats, even though the republicans hold both houses of congress, as the best conservative? And then say it's one bad vote, even though it was multiple votes? But you are also complaining that others were pushing repubs that are not pure dyed-in-the-wool conservatives?

This from a guy defending people that voted to elect the very people now siding with Democrats. I guess you want more of them. No matter what.

It’s funny. Your side of the aisle browbeat the hell out of conservatives for being purists and here you are demanding total purity. Funny how that works. PS, you might wanna read up more on what actually happened with Cruz.

No, come election day, as history shows, most of the right will line up like Democrats and elect them again. Then come here bitching about their poor choices.

My cup truly runneth over today! The politicians and their lackeys are doing their damnedest to prove my point: voting is an exercise in futility, a fool’s errand and worse.

Elections are three card monte written large and conservatives are the suckers who always play.

Look closely FRiends. This is what our voting has wrought.

More than just his support of amnesty ...

Paul Ryan co-sponsored and voted for the Gay Bill of Special Rights (H.R. 3685) in 2007.

*** Special job rights for homosexuals. Businesses may have to adopt hiring quotas to protect themselves from lawsuits. Every homosexual fired or not hired becomes a potential federal civil rights lawsuit.

*** Radical homosexuals will terrorize daycare centers, hospitals, churches and private schools. Traditional moral values will be shattered by federal law.

*** An explosion of lawsuits as Christian business owners and even clergy are forced to support homosexual “marriage” ceremonies or hire homosexual youth pastors.

Paul Ryan’s vote in 2007 helped the House of Representatives pass the disastrous Gay Bill of Special Rights. It was stalled in the Senate that year and defeated.

Ryan is no conservative. He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing who needs to have that stupid grin slapped off his face, and have his phony liberal ass kicked hard to the curb.

"According to Roll Call the Democrats are willing to elect Ryan if the GOPe promise to give them comprehensive immigration reform and amnesty legislation. Representative Steve King warns of the political bloodbath which would follow such a deal."

And that will be the end of the GOP. They don't call it the stupid party for nothing.

I did not defend anybody. I was just trying to understand why you are condemning others for voting for the lesser of two evils. But yet still promoting the lessor of two evils.

Personally, I think all politicians are scum and will only disappoint you. That is why I am not voting for a politician.

There are probably a lot of pretenders among the “No” votes as well.

America needs a new political party that is sober, sane and not sold out to the business and banking elites that intend to drive this nation deeper into debt, owing more and more to the bankers because of the larger debt service (”credit card”) payments.

The burden of higher debt service will force government spending to be cut and or taxes to be increased, which the Uniparty politicians will do sooner as later as the USA starts to look more like the European countries.

This read is quite stunning. That both parties so openly show their disdain for True Americans is both beyond the pale and treasonous. There will be war. There will be blood. No more will there even be an elected Republican. Perhaps, even go so far as to say there will no longer be an America. These lunatics have shown exactly who they are and what they would do to secure their power as well as their ill gotten treasure. WE WILL NEVER FORGET NEVER EVER FORGET just what the elites will have done.

Signing on with the wicked witch of Obamacare would ring the death knell of the GOPe. An admission "we're just like them."

While this isn't news to FReepers, I think it will awaken some of the less politically aware.

In NO WAY will this strengthen the GOPe.

Eric Cantor thought that, too.

I got news for you Norm, there will never be any candidate (except Cruz) “conservative” enough for you and the other anti-Trump snobs on DN. You malcontents are getting old.

I find it interesting the latitude you hypocrites provide Ted Cruz on such things as TPP and amnesty.

Let me guess, you and the other sufferers of TDS are going to sit home on election night if Trump clinches the primary? You pal are no patriot...you’re a snob and a wuss.

The same group also loathe and despise Ted Cruz.

Thst's why for the most part FOX News (aka the Karl Rove Network) is barely able to utter his name.

For some time, they had a complete blackout of his name!

So we just wait for a conservative champion to come along, challenge Ryan, win and make us all the happiest sorority girls at the roller rink?
Right?

The failure of anyone to challenge Boehner last time is the reason my congressman was able to send his constituents a letter (that Boehner’s office drafted!) that basically said, “Throw a hat in the ring, or shut up.”

So there it is. And like it or not, he’s right. We put up or shut up.
There are at least 50 “young conservative Turks” in the House, right?
The Speaker doesn’t even have to be a critter.
Right?

Buehler? Ferris Buehler?
Anyone there?
crickets
(They must be shy.)

*********************************************************************************

Well, Sparky, I guess you didn’t read the following sentence in the linked Conservative Treehouse article?:

“King said he would not support Ryan for speaker, noting that he has long opposed leadership candidates who are ‘pro-amnesty’ and that he is still backing Rep. Daniel Webster (R-FL)to take charge of the House.”
