Agree. I suspect he was just there for his ego - he would go just long enough, drop out, and hand the election to Hillary.
I know this because I can read his mind, you know, like people are able to read the minds of other candidates - one in particular.
I am sure he had a contractural agreement for promotion long predating his run for president.
