Among the many things Trump has made normal non-elite people aware of; there is truly an elite, priviledged group of ppl in the media, business, politics and academia and then there is the rest of us.
They don’t give a damn about “we the people”, they are all about bettering their dreams and lives, not ours.
They rule in a way that benefits them. They don’t care if our live get wrecked by the messes they create.
They are hypocrites to the max, they all have personal protection of one kind of another, live in the safest of safe environments, have lots of money and connnections, their children go to great schools, whose goal is to prepare them for success in life and business, their schools have little to no violence.
Add to that a lawless president that rules by executive order and is cheered on by a Democrat party that by it’s own admission is not much different than the socialist.
All this has brought us to a “tipping point.” We realize just 1 more election of the same ole same ole, our country could be changed forever and not for the good.
Donald Trump has pulled back the curtain and shown us the truth “yes there is a ruling elite, they come in all stripes and they don’t give a DAMN about you!”
We believe deeply that he is the only hope we have to defeat them and take our country and lives back.
Really, cause I know several blacks who ALWAYS vote democrat who say they like Trump and support him. I know even more people who hate Hillary and they are liberal.
TLDR: National Review doesn’t like Democrats like Trump running for President on the Republican ticket.
Your post is as baseless as the NRO Lowry/Ponnuru quixotic screed itself!
The article is worse than fiction; it is an effeminate yarn dripping with such palpable anger and frustration as to expose the authors for the whining beltway elites they are, watching their gilded, lofty perch eroding beneath their soft, wet bottoms
Okay, we'll see. I NEVER bet on anything and I bet a coworker $100 that she will win.
Well I never like to bet against the stupidity of the average American voter. Look what we have ended up with the past 7 years.
Not trying to pick a fight, he is not my candidate. But I am not opposed to voting for him if he wins it. He is s superb improvement over who is in there now, and also of anyone else the Dems will offer. I do think the writers of the article, after reading it through, are a little too dramatic.
While I like many things about his tax plan, I think it is structurally flawed in a way that might prove fatal long term. We can't risk allowing so high a percentage of people who don't have to pay income taxes. Everyone needs to wear a taxpayer cap, even if it is very modest, so that they have skin in the game.
Trump has more real political experience than most politicians in the US, who are largely constrained by Wash. DC rules. Trump is worldwide.I would say it's more connection with what is agitating a large number of GOP voters. The politicians, for the most part, have no clue how livid many of the GOP base is at their lack of spine and/or candor over the decades when it comes to immigration policy. Mix in with that their collective cower to the media - historically - whenever they misspeak or say something that comes out wrong. Trump doesn't apologize, he clarifies sometimes if he thinks he needs to but then says in so many words, I don't really give a damn anyway. I think that is what I like most about him -- he plays the media like a piano. If he wanted to get his message out about any topic, at any time, in any venue, to hundreds of millions of people, is there any doubt he could? The media lapdogs would be falling all over themselves to hand him a microphone, put a camera on him, and let him speak as long as he wants. It is truly amazing. I chuckle every time I think about his manipulation of them, and the simultaneous irony of it all: the man who can most afford to pay for his own media coverage, is the one who doesn't have to. Meanwhile, all the air is sucked out of the room for everyone else.
the writers know this and are just trying to conduct agitprop.I don't think so. I think they, too, are fascinated by his performance. They don't agree with many of his policies and statements, but they do respect his connection and ability to dominate the conversation.
In the end, those two attributes are perhaps two of the most politically powerful, so maybe you are right when you say he really has more political experience. I might add "savvy"
Lowery is the Titanic of punditry.Maybe so, but I love the line. Still wish I had thought of it.
