Yes, I was also referring to the Martin case, my exasperation, not aimed at you btw, was that its quoted by Freepers and Americans as the norm for the UK, when it most certainly wasn’t. In fact twice since 2007, the law was strengthened again FOR the homeowner. And in 2012 a burglar was legally stabbed to death in Manchester. BTW, I opposed and oppose the Martin sentence. I understand the judge’s reasoning re the law, but he could easily have given him a suspended sentence.
Ah ok, thought that was the one, as its a famous UK case. In that case, having read and watched numerous docs and articles/books, the husband did it 100%, he was a violent and controlling man. Who was always right.
I will need to try and research the other one. I have a great interest in murder/unsolved murder cases, esp the UK, and know many obscure and forgotten cases, but this one eludes me. I hate the words fascination or junkie, my interest in murder cases is the victim, who has been forgotten, not the killer.
