Yes, with the ‘ranks’ of VFW, AL etc open to draft dodgers et al ( The Sons of Legion and Mens Auxiliary of VFW) allow children of eligible Vets and now Parents of eligible Vets to become members.
I do have ‘mixed’ emotions about this but it does kind of bother me when a ‘Son of the Legion or VFW Aux’ dude is MY age, sitting next to me in the club....some, the same that had ‘better things’ to do while laughing at those of us that served.
Any feelings toward the military come from either a good foundation with basic knowledge of civics, the congress directs the military the people direct and elect the congress
Or a bad foundation. Ignorance of the above
And a mixture of the tenet of a standing military constitutionally founded protecting us from enemies
And the leadership of the country. It’s love or disdain for the military
And not necessarily in that order
Ignorance is not good
If the uniform of your host country offends you go the hell where you came from !!!

I’m working with some Brits right now in an exercise. We were at a club on-post, drinking beers, chatting, and one of the NCOs said he’s really amazed at how supportive average Americans are of the U.S. military. Apparently it’s pretty common to be shouted at, called “baby killer” or some such by civilians in the UK if they’re seen in uniform. Sad.
The left works its crap 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Military is the hardest job you can do, especially if liberals are ‘in charge’.
So let them get upset. If the sight of somebody in a military uniform upsets you, the problem is YOU.
