Although I like Dr Ben Carson, I am not one either. I agree with you that the people trying to make an issue out of it are both foolish and dishonest.

It’s only 09/2015 and already on this forum you can’t discuss a particular issue, or post something about one of the candidates without getting jumped on by supporters of another candidate. All FReepers left on the forum by 11/2016 will all be “men of steel”.

He wasn’t wobbly about the second amendment. He only was against people having Semi automatic weapons in cities but not out in the country were there are fewer people.

Well that is your right. I like Dr Carson but never had any intention to vote for him because I thought he would be better in an other position. Like Secretary of Health and Human Services

I can’t forsee any circumstance in which I would vote for him, but I like his attitude toward pc and a muslim president. I respect the way he handled it and don’t see how he backed down. It seems to me he used the Christian example as another way to illustrate that theocratic government is totally incompatible with the Constitution.

I really like Dr. Carson though disagree with some of his other ideas.

It all gets down to: the constitution is not a suicide pact. Islam has proven itself to be incompatible with a democratic society. No other religion tells its followers to kill non-believers and apostates.

If some Muslim candidate does renounce all the main tenets of Islam, then he or she could be considered eligible to be elected to a major office. But then they wouldn't be Muslims.

This is typical Presidential election time on FR.

You'd figure that mature adults would not act so childlishly, but...

"I hold that in contemplation of universal law and of the Constitution the Union of these States is perpetual. Perpetuity is implied, if not expressed, in the fundamental law of all national governments. It is safe to assert that no government proper ever had a provision in its organic law for its own termination. Continue to execute all the express provisions of our National Constitution, and the Union will endure forever, it being impossible to destroy it except by some action not provided for in the instrument itself."

I don't think he is likely to be the nominee, but if he is, there could be an interesting match-up between him and Hillary.

Man of Steel vs. Woman of Steal.
