I profoundly disagree that you have a valid tie. The poster was paraphrasing Romans 1. In the O.T. we have an example of Sodom and Gomorrah. They were not the only sinners in the world at that time. God chose to make them an example. You can see that mentioned here and there in other passages, too. It is a vile sin and should be condemned. We do not bring final judgment. God does. All sin will be judged. By all means share the gospel with them. But in the context of government, it is in the BAD BEHAVIOR category. Go squishy if you choose. I will not relinquish my right to say poop is stinky, up is up, down is down, homosexuality is abnormal and an offense to our Creator.
The problem with homosexuality is not that it is a sin, too. The problem is that the left is pushing to call it not a sin. It is being used as a weapon against Truth and against the gospel we both love. It is being marketed to children. It is robbing people of their freedoms (religious, jobs, speech, etc). How can you not be outraged?
And again there is no mention of earning — that was added by the poster. God has at that point in the story “given them over.” However on a larger scale God has given EVERYBODY over to various evils, some large, some small. Inevitable result of the Fall.
Some will learn and repent. Some won’t.
There is more than one bible reference in being turned over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.
So again I say, valid tie. Nothing can be said about earning at this point. No final judgment made, as even you admitted.
How can you not be outraged at the love of God spurned, perpetuated by Christians who will not see things through that lens because of their own personal gored oxen?
And if you call the gift of the Cross squishy, that is your prerogative. But do not pretend that does not cut God to the heart when you do it.
Yep. The church wants to be friends with the world rather than being salt. They want peace when Jesus said he came not to bring peace - but conflict.
Judgment is always earned. Otherwise you would be saying that God is unjust in His judgment.
You cannot interpret the Bible if you can only see “everyone” in each teaching. God made examples of some even though all have sinned and fall short of His glory. He chose specific sins to judge as an example.
In my opinion you are snatching the gospel out of its context and thereby neutering it.
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungody, nor stands in the path of sinners, not sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord and in His law he meditates day and night....” Psalm 1 O.T. Pre gospel. That is true whether the whole world falls short or not; whether we were provided a substitute in Christ or not. Can you imagine additional verses saying “but never mind teaching that because you are not so perfect, either....”
Seems everyone I’ve met of whom their native tongue is Spanish isn’t very intelligent. Exceptions, definitely, definitely!! Rule, no!
Personal ox gored?
Should the world not stand against anything? What about the holocaust? What about Aztec human sacrifice? That is just two of many outrageous things humans have come up with. How far does your “love” extend? How about serial killers? How about ISIS? Beheadings? Are these bad because they are more intense? Where do you draw the line? They are just sinners, too.
Beware of losing your hatred for and outrage toward sin. Do not have a different scale for yourself than for others. But neither lose your hatred for it.
Once Catholic Spain and once Catholic Ireland. How the mighty have fallen. Disgusting.
“Spains conservative ruling party leaders attend gay wedding”
By definition, they are NOT being conservative when they are attending a gay wedding.
Just like David Cameron’s party is being the opposite of conservative by not only pushing through “SSM” in Britain but Cameron himself expressing the desire to “export gay marriage around the world”.
