Unlike Ted Cruz, Matt Walsh isn’t campaigning for president. Ted Cruz doesn’t need to “go ape” over Trump’s success; at this point, that would be stupid. (For instance, let’s see how that strategy plays out for Bobby Jindal. I suspect he knows he won’t be the party’s nominee, and decided to do the “dirty” work for the conservative cause.)
Ted Cruz is playing it smart, remaining relatively quiet while Trump slowly but surely exposes his weaknesses, and the Matt Walshes (and Bobby Jindals?) pick them up and amplify them for more to see and hear.
Clearly, Trump has given staunchly-pro-life conservatives ample reason to abandon him. The Matt Walshes want more of them to know it.
After Trump inevitably crumbles under his own ego, Ted Cruz can pick up the torch and carry it through to the nomination.
Don't worry, the rest of us will fix it for you. Or at least we will try.
So, you’re saying someone can’t support pro-life Ted Cruz AND expect to defeat the GOPe? Are you suggesting one term in Congress has poisoned Ted Cruz, despite evidence to the contrary?
And drop the condescension shtick, FRiend. I don’t “worry” for a second that I should ever require the likes of you to “fix” this for me.
1. Matt Walsh is not informed enough to branch off into politics.
2. Trump is able to accomplish what it appeared that Cruz was going to be unable to--defeat of the GOPe, and halt to their plan to make America a multicultural hell hole, just in the nick of time. The GOPe had a roadmap to success for their candidate, and going into it, I hoped that Cruz would catch fire and find a way to overcome the Country Club/CofC alliance, like Reagan did in 1979-80, but it was not happening. It's a different country now, and the elites learned from that experience. They were not going to let it happen. But Trump came along, and he can win with a different kind of campaign, and he has billions to spend. That changes everything.
Trying to talk down Trump, to take him out, to argue against him because of his stand on this or that, is to either be part of the GOPe, or to play into their hands. If the GOPe is not defeated in this cycle, the Republic is dead, instead of mostly dead.
