Tyranny? Our system of government gives the Supreme Court final say over constitutional matters,

If that's the case why are blacks no longer considered property?

No Kim Davis was operating under the laws of the State of KY which do not allow same sex marriage. To date those laws have not been changed by the KY legislature. She was also operating under the 10th Amendment which allows a state to nullify unconstitutional Federal laws.

The 5 activist lawyers in black robes who re-wrote the Constitution to force same sex marriage on 50 sovereign states are the bad actors in this melodrama.

The hypocrisy is tangible.

Would the Washington Post require that Muslim employees be subject to being fired for refusing to handle alcohol or pork?

Okay, they are private employees, not government employees.

So rephrase it: should Muslims who work for the US government be fired if they want to wear burkas or face veils? How about if their *federal* job requires them to work with pork or alcohol? Should they get a pass for that?

How about “not praying during business hours”?

Oh, my gosh! Cruz doesn’t support driving Christians from federal government employment? How unfashionable of him.

Today, judicial lawlessness crossed into judicial tyranny,” he said. “Today, for the first time ever, the government arrested a Christian woman for living according to her faith.

What part of this statement is untrue? None. This is exactly what happened.

Now Cruz, who took an oath of office to “support and defend the Constitution,” wants people to defy the Supreme Court’s authority?

Well how else can you defend the Constitution? The Court over stepped it bounds, found homosexual marriage were none existed before and basically wrote law. So if your duty is to defend the Constitution you have to stand against this action.

Has Dana Milbank ever written a column opposing sanctuary cities (I doubt it)? Has he ever written a column denouncing a Supreme Court decision (e.g. Citizen’s United)? Almost certainly.

Dana, Cruz IS defending the Constitution. It’s your liberal justices who are ignoring it.

Hey, Dana, Dred Scott and Plessy v. Ferguson were once the law of the land, affirmed by greater Supreme Court majorities than the gay marriage case. Should we have passively accepted THOSE decisions as “settled law”? Was the civil disobedience of MLK Jr. despicable and un-American?

Anthony Kennedy is smiling at the tyranny he unleashed upon the nation.

Mr. Milbank, living on the East Coast, simply does not understand the heart of America. It is a loving heart and it tries to love the tyranny it is now under but the challenge is becoming very scary. Mr. Milbank does not realize that this is not going away. Since the homosexual movement against the Christian church began some time ago, those members have become very vigilant, knowing that persecution would come. Recently, we saw Christians robbed of small businesses they needed to support themselves shut down because homosexuals refused to go elsewhere to get their wedding cakes and flowers though there were many other businesses eager to serve them. It seemed, though, that they targeted the people they knew had a conscience about that. Were their actions done to deliberately bring about persecution against Christians? Possibly. Now, we have the first woman in history jailed for her Christian conscience when there are many places in KY where the gays could get their marriage licenses without trampling on Kim Davis’ rights. I had no idea this was going to happen and, coincidentally, a few weeks ago I ordered a copy of “TRUTH OVERRULED, THE FUTURE OF MARRIAGE AND RELIGIOUS FREEDOM,” by Ryan T. Anderson. He makes his case from mountains of evidence using legal and social history concerning the importance of male/female marriage. His approach is very logical and reasonable and anyone would be hard pressed to debate him on his conclusions. I have a prediction and that is that Kentucky will elect a Republican governor soon because the courage of Kim Davis has drawn a line in the sand. Her courage and the support she is getting might even impact the 2016 Presidential election. When governments get out of control, some people begin to realize it is time to stand up for their rights.

Many liberal icons were or are “lawbreakers” in one way or the other: MLK, Ted Kennedy, Obama, both Clintons, FDR, Margaret Sanger, the Black Panthers, Rosa Parks, Obama, Jesse Jackson - the list goes on.

He forgot to tell us the judge who put Davis in jail is a “devout Catholic,” but the Post covered that for him in a separate article. These people are simply evil. All of them. I don’t want to live in the same world with them.

If the Supreme Court invented some bogus right out of thin air that forced Muslims to choose between violating their faith and being fired/imprisoned, liberals would be the first ones to point out how many parts of the Constitution had been violated (although they would badly butcher the analysis) and to call for open civil disobedience.
