Just curious why some folks would think all species of the sea had to be global.

All the species don't have to be global. Given that they find fossils everywhere, those conditions would have to be global.

The Apostle Peter prophesied that there would be willingly ignorant uniformitarians in the last days, and he speaks specifically of the worldwide Flood that they’re being willingly ignorant of:

2Pe 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
2Pe 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
2Pe 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
2Pe 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

Weird that Peter had their number way back then, huh?

Because guess what? If there was a worldwide deluge (probably caused by runaway subduction of the tectonic plates), you’d expect to find billions of dead things buried in rock layers all over the earth. And that’s exactly what we find. And I think I read somewhere that if the earth was a perfect sphere, no mountains, no valleys, that its water would bury everything to a depth of about 1/2 mile. Runaway subduction could’ve temporarily created that perfect sphere, while burying profuse vegetation that under sufficient pressure would quickly become coal and oil.

In fact, pretty much the only way the fossil record could’ve been formed is by fast burial of organisms in water sediments. Otherwise they’d just rot on the surface. The fossil record is catastrophism on display, not uniformitarianism.

In such a deluge, the less intelligent and less mobile would die and be buried first, with the most intelligent and most mobile dying last and being buried last, if at all. Those most intelligent could’ve mostly just rotted on the surface.

What’s even more weird is that supposedly “65 million year old” t-rex bones have been found out west that were NOT permineralized, and in fact had wet, gelatinous heme in its thigh bone.

The planet is still here, but massively changed, by both continental break-up, and the Ice age that ensued from the hot water that belched up from “the great deep.”

The entire world was covered with water. Evidence of that covers the entire north american continent.

Total fabrication.

The most notable artifacts of Egypt, the large pyramids, and the sphinx, are clearly pre-flood, as evidenced by the type of water damage they suffered.

Great gobs of bovine excrement!

The ice was post flood. It couldn’t have even happened without the globe encompassing hot oceans that belched up from below.

The bursting of a land barrier between the Mediterranean and the Black Sea causing the latter to suddenly flood around 8 thousand years ago has been theorized. And discovery of what looks like outlines of old settlements on the Black Sea floor could be evidence. It certainly would fit the time frame and location of the tale of Noah. And genetic research says that at one point modern humans were reduced to a small group from which all of mankind today sprang. Personally I take Genesis as true as what people could understand and write down of stories about real events that had been passed down orally for perhaps thousands of years.

The context, or the reasoning of the flood was basically to do away with the giants, the hybrids that lived in that area. The reason that Noah and his family were chosen by God was two fold. Yes, Noah was a righteous man, as much as man is capable of being righteous. But as it says in Genesis 6:9, where it says Noah was perfect in his generations- that doesn’t mean morally perfect. It’s referring to his family line. It’s saying they were without blemish with regard to pedigree, i.e. did not intermix with the fallen angels who came to earth.

It ain’t rocket science. You either Believe the Word of all powerful God or you dont. A God who can speak the world onto being can do anything else, Period.

Do you think in 120 years he could have found a safe place without needing a boat?

How long can you tread water?

Right!

Yes, Cosby is persona non grata here, but dang the Noah sketch was funny.

Theres’s no scientific evidence that humanity was reduced to 7 individuals in the Anatolia area during any point in the last 10,000 years. In fact, there’s a mountain of evidence to the contrary.

Did kangaroos and the other marsupials all swim across the Pacific Ocean, and then back again to Australia? Were 4 foot tall Emperor Penguins lumbering down the slopes of Turkish mountains and the waddling back to Antarctica?

Are you completely unaware of when the continental break-up happened? (apparently)
Genesis 10:25

And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided

That's it? That's your explanation?

During Peleg’s life was when the continental shift took place.

Was he born 4 billion years ago? Where does he live today? Bet he's got some stories to tell!
