I was talking about the first Gulf War and what followed.

I didn’t revise anything.

Perot was worth around $3 billion when he ran. Today he’s worth around $4 billion and his son is worth around $2 billion. They’ve done all right.

Perot also hated McCain and Kerry over the MIA issue.

Whatever Obama has on Roberts, Bush knew it, too and still appointed him knowing he would be compromised down the road.

Trump seems incapable of holding his tongue when he has a chance to issue a gratuitous insult.

Hewitt was conducting a polite and non-confrontational interview. He even complimented Trump on the way he handled Ramos. In fact, it seemed to me that Hewitt was giving DT every chance to act the statesman and thereby win over some of us who have doubted his ability to act presidential.

But no, Don apparently can’t resist the temptation to indulge in a bit of cheap New Yorkish street humor, in order to make a disparaging comment about a very decent and honorable man, a President whose leadership during our war on the jihadis will probably be praised by future, unbiased historians.

Will DT’s boorish behavior ever moderate? Dunno. I guess we’re in for an interesting ride over the next 15 months.

>> you won’t take out the Iranian nukes by air <<

Well, you and I both know that we wouldn't even try, at least not before January 20, 2017. And even after that magic date, I gotta rate the proposition as highly dubious.

On the other hand, the Israelis may have no choice but to launch an air attack with their own nukes -- and they really might act sooner rather than later. No exaggeration. Take a look the following lengthy, scary and very authoritative article:

http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2015/08/thinking_about_the_unthinkable_an_israeliran_nuclear_war_.html

I must say in all honesty that after I read this article a few days ago, I didn't sleep too well that night. It's deeply troubling to think the world could be so close to a nuclear attack, even though initiated by our Israeli friends. But I certainly couldn't fault them if indeed they should act as the article suggests they must.

>> There was plenty of justification to go after Hussein <<

As I recall, there were something like 13 reasons in the “Authorization for the Use of Force” against Sadam.

IIRC, only one or two of those reasons dealt with weapons of mass destruction. And the reasons were so compelling that Biden, Kerry and Madame Rodham voted for the authorization.

So yeah, “plenty of justification” is exactly correct. And I suspect that future, unbiased historians will understand the various justifications and thereby give GWB good marks. Just sorry that I’m too old to live that long!

On the one hand you can go along with the article. But the unintended consequences of such an attack ( almost certain fully united Muslim invasions) opposition from every western government, mischief from Russia and China . . . I don’t see even a frantically desperate Israel doing this.

Oh, I understand your point fully. Horrible consequences could flow from an attack, even if the Sunnis all give Israel covert support.

But I read the entire lengthy article. I recommend you do so as well. I have to say that it’s disturbingly persuasive. All kinds of fascinating but scary details about the technology that show the author truly knows whereof he speaks.

In particular, he has me believing that no “conventional” weapons could now do the job — not with the hardening of potential targets that Iran has already achieved.

The bottom line for me is that Obama has put the whole world in a “box” from which there seems no good escape. Either the Israelis nuke Iran in the short run, or Iran EMP’s us and levels Israel in the intermediate-to-long run. As things now stand, I don’t see a realistic third option. More sanctions? Regime change? A ground invasion? Too late IMO. I can only hope I’m wrong.

I was just saying if you think back to the day he was appointed, most here thought it was wonderful. I certainly thought it was wonderful, I remember the Conservative movement at the time was thrilled that Roberts was appointed.

As for getting inside their heads, I dont know.

Suitor lied and said he was a Conservative, the list is long.

Trump says they wont put one over on him, he will pick true Conservatives./..here`s hoping...We should get it in writing

Are you just acting dumb?

Yes, the Gulf war was over the invasion of Kuwait.

The Gulf war ended with Iraq agreeing to specific terms they had to abide by.

Those terms were later violated - and I listed some of those violations.

The violation of those terms by Iraq was enough justification all by themselves for the resumption of war regardless of 9-11 or the search for WMD.

Are you catching on yet?

I remember Bush preferred one of his policy layers, Conservatives went crazy, Bush gave them one of their preferred choices In Roberts, looking back we messed up on that one, Bush may have had it right to begin with
