Quicken loans founder Dan Gilbert has said he has trouble finding qualified employees here in Michigan where our colleges should produce exactly the kind of students who should be ideal but is finding that they aren't prepared for the workplace. He says that colleges are too busy socializing the students rather than teaching them. He's a pretty liberal guy who makes a "fun" workplace but didn't become a billionaire by playing video games.

My biggest problem with Trump on this is the way he is treated like a messiah for saying the same thing others are attacked for. Many of the same FReepers who are fawning over Trump go rabid over Ted Cruz wanting to increase H1-b visa holders under essentially the same conditions but Cruz doesn't suggest making them citizens.

The fact is, all that Trump is proposing is a huge mishmash of things that have been proposed by many others over the last 30 years.There isn't much in it that I disagree with, its just DOA in Washington.

Its better to propose securing the border and enforcing current laws to stop the bleeding before attempting to cure the disease. Things like birthright citizenship are only an issue because the bleeding has been allowed to continue unabated.
