Big Donors Warn Candidates On Eve Of Debate: “Take Trump Out”
I wish Trump had reminded the Fox folks and the audience of those incidents as reasons why he must keep his options open, to make his concern whether he will be treated fairly much more vivid and real to those who might not have heard these stories.
It's frustrating when Trump does not present his best case on some issues, and those "Big Donors" attempts to thwart the debate and electoral process should have been roundly condemned by the RNC and the media. Crickets.
So much I wish he would have said, especially the degrading attempt by Kelly to get in the ‘pretty on your knees’ comment.
I wish Trump would have said, “I think you have me confused with President Bill Clinton.”
Would have been a great one-liner.
This is a stupid issue. Most states already have “Sore Loser” laws or regulations in place that prevent a loser in the primary from being an independent in the general.

Less well known is this: 44 states have “sore loser” laws of one form or another. These laws effectively block a candidate who fails to win a party primary from appearing on the general election ballot, as either an independent or as the nominee of another party.
Trump had the opportunity to be specific. He could have said:
“If Bush, Paul, Christie or Kasich are the GOP candidate, I will run as a third party candidate”
It would have been a bingo. But that isn’t what he did. He shrugged his shoulders and gave some bs statement about keeping options open.
It came across as self-serving.
“Pledges” are gimmicks. I also admire people that can say “ya know, I was wrong. I’ve changed my mind”. Way too often people admire “sticking by their guns” when sticking by ones guns only confirms they are a fool,

That Trump wouldn’t agree to not run as a 3rd party candidate is a good thing?
Chris Wallace came off as a malicious bully. His sniveling pretense that he was asking “all” the candidates did NOT make Trump look bad. It made Chris Wallace look like a tool. Trump’s raising his hand won the day. He is not going to be manipulated. The others secretly wanted to raise their hands, too! The American public is getting sick and tired of the media hired hatchetmen and hatchetwomen, who’ve long since abandoned all semblance of journalism.
It's EARLY in the race to the Presidency. Way early. There's nobody paying attention except political junkies for the most part. So in a big public appearance like the debate what's the best play? Appear to be like everyone else? Or stand out and make the story about you? Clearly number 2. He could have annuciated long, boring policy speeches that everyone KNOWS amount to nothing in the long run. Same old same old. But he wanted to stand out because there were going to be bunch of people really seeing him for the first time. A lot of low information voters. And what did they see? Trump getting attacked. Trump fighting back. That's what people like and that's what was delivered last night.
He'll keep this same strategy until the field is narrow enough. And then he'll focus on the remaining gop candidates. How he'll take them out is a good question. But you can bet he'll use a populist theme to do so.
Remember Trump is a businessman. He set a goal. Be the President. He's broken down the process into a series of goals.
That's why the press and establishment is terrified. He's not approaching it as a political process. He's all business.
I believe Will, that realistically Trump had no time to do mortal combat with the trio of killers before him, and mentally process the cutting insults, and then respond with bullet points on the meaning of LEVERAGE.
No way. That was no place for Trump to shine, last night, with his arms in splints fighting thugs.
