For example, I know folks that lead very conservative lives, yet always vote democrat. Conversely, I know some folks that lead very liberal lives, and vote Republican.
The most disgusting example are the RINO’s professing to be Republican, yet do excellent work screwing their own base and side with obama more than not.
So what is Trump? I say let’s see what he does, how he acts, what he says. Personally, I think he’s mostly Independent with conservative values.
Right now he’s saying what needs to be said and wants to rebuild what the libs have destroyed. Regardless of what label this guy is going by or others think he is, he’s doing good right now.
Jeb Bush, Mitch McConnell, John Boenher, Mitt Romney, John McCain, etc.
All well established card carrying Republicans.

Why does anyone even WANT a Republican president? Look how they’ve morphed into Democrats. I want an American president; party does not matter.
1. Trump is articulating MORE Republican positions then MOST republicans in political power ever articulate. He's more republican than most republicans.
2. Yes, he attacked Scott Walker's success AFTER Scott Walker's campaign attacked him.
3. Trump got where he is in by beat the competition. He understands that to win the nomination he has to beat the competition. That's what he's doing.

Good. We should be insulted that Juan McCainez, Lindsay Lograham, Miotch McConnell and others like them DO pretend to be Republicans when they seek our vote every election cycle.

1. Trump is as much a conservative and more so than the majority of the Republican caucus. Notice what happened Sunday. Republicans justified their sellout by attacking Cruz.
2. Trump has mentioned Hillary has donors and says she is a criminal. Not quite as bad as calling someone a “cancer”.
3. Walker attacked Trump last week.
4. In politics, except for Obama, all failings of the CEO are the leader’s responsibility.
5. Does attacking Trump establish one as being solid conservative. If so, wait for Boehner and McConnell.
Donald Trump is the Jesse Ventura of this race...except most of the “pox on both of your houses” is directed at the side he purports to be on the side of. It behooves neither of the candidates I support 1. Walker 2. Cruz to personally speak out against his flip flops until Trump ends up on stage behind a podium.
The supporters of Trump are no different than the supporters of Jesse Ventura in MN or of Obama in 2008. Even with all of the evidence of their past their new savior in politics isn’t going to be anything like he always has been and then they’ll scream about how they were deceived in their vote when they show those stripes that the voters chose to wholly ignore.
If Trump doesn’t get the nomination, he will surely jump third party. I don’t think he is in it to win but to cause mischief. The electorate has about a year and a few months to figure this out. Sure, he has said the same things a lot of us feel, but that doesn’t make him a good candidate. I don’t think he represents anyone but himself.
Trump is performing a very useful service right now, and in his absence, *nobody* else would carry out this role.
On the Republican side, this primary race was intended to be no race at all. To start with, the tiny number of big money corporate backers had no intention of permitting a challenge to their anointed candidate.
Second, a lot of the candidates are not seriously running for the office, but for cabinet appointments by the winner. So they aren’t going to say or do anything that could cost them this job. Just mumble inanities.
Third, the anointed candidates are all about marginalizing conservatives, the rank and file of the party. This is the ‘Empire Strikes Back’ moment, open warfare by the anti-conservatives like the Chamber of Commerce.
But by forcing them into the light, making them say what they really think, Trump is putting them on record in ways increasingly hard to weasel out of later, when unless they get the votes of the defeated conservatives, they get nothing.
So we should give our full support to the Trump campaign, until what he is doing stops chasing the turkeys around the pen like a yapping dachshund.
Whether you love Trump or hate him, the “captain obvious” truth is that conservatives are sick and tired of Republican do-nothing-ism. As everyone has said, there is a LOT of anger by the conservative base toward the RNC.
This is why Trump is making traction among disaffected conservatives and independents (I believe). He stays on message and he fights back - he doesn’t spew the meaningless platitudes you hear over and over from most candidates. That is refreshing to a lot of people.
On the other hand, I agree that Trump has a lot of greys when it comes to several other issues that are also important to conservatives, such as abortion, traditional marriage, foreign policy, repealing socialized medicine, taxes, deficit spending, etc.
I don’t think the other candidates should bash Trump - that makes them look weak (at least to me it does).
I think they should agree with Trump on the border and immigration issue, but then go on to present what they would do to tackle the other major issues, like the economy, foreign policy (particularly Iran, but also China, Russia), reigning in federal spending - in other words, beat Trump at his own game by also being real with the American public about ALL these issues, and, do so with a combination of “in your face” truth, but also with a touch of humor and a positive outlook that all these issues can be dealt with - in other words - COMMUNICATE in a way that people get. That is what Trump has done.
